I realize I chose to live in Michigan, but ugh!!
I heard on the radio that out of the last 20 days, it has snowed 17!!
I'm tired of driving in it, especially to clinicals at 0700 and having to get
up super-early to get there because our school NEVER closes! :angryfire
Thanks for listening.
Think Spring!

I guess there is no way in petitioning mother nature to stop dumping snow and freezing rain on us. I had to drive to work early Sunday morning and that was a real treat. I take 75 south to work and people still drove like idiots on the icy road. I went about 30 mph on the freeway! It was awful and I kept passing accidents and saying to myself "yep, sooner or later those people are going to be my patients in SICU"

Too bad you couldn't somehow thank the people driving like idiots for helping to give us good job security...nn:lol2:
Best,
Diane
I hate the snow & especially the bone chilling wind! It is absolutely freezing out there right now, I guess the low tonight is -10. Usually I can deal with the snow but this winter I have had enough. We even had clinical cancelled 1 night a couple weeks ago because the weather was so bad!
Hey Diane-RN, not sure where you attend school, but our school DID close one day last year - our clinical instructor called us all about 5:15 am to say the heavy snow closed school, and there was no clinical!! I was still under the covers and sleepy, and just rolled over and slept another hundred hours!! Even, better, it was a Med-Surg clinical and we didn't have to make it up!
I still dream about that day....
I'm with the rest of you. Today is Thursday, and I cannot believe how COLD it is out there.
I would have stayed home and drank wine.. or better yet, Baileys and coffee
I don't remember what I did....only what I didn't HAVE to do. The fact that she called early enough so we weren't wide eyed and ready to leave the house was extra fabulous.
I'm sure I studied Med-Surg at some point that day - that class was hard and I studied every moment I could find. A good class behind me!

Some of my family is in Michigan and they said it was about 10 degrees tonight. It's just around 40 degrees right now here in NC, and Monday it was sunny and 67. It's my first winter here, and I'm surprised by how mild it has been- only several days of rain and it's only snowed twice. We are in a drought, though. I remember it being in the 60's in December and riding my bike through the woods- something I'd never get to do back in MA (during December).
