Anyone else feel like throwing up. It is part of this big push to get people to go into healthcare jobs. Gov. Rendell I got news for you, the call bell is not getting answered because managment will not spend the money to put enough people on the unit to answer the damn bell. In addition, most new hires quit very quickly when they realized they are being worked to death. Geeze, I can't believe the politicians are falling for that "we can't find staff" line of BS. The real problem is they can't find people that will accept being treated like mushrooms, KEPT IN THE DARK and FED SHYTE.
I just sent my email complaining about the commercial and gave the Guv an earful about why there is NOT a true nursing shortage, but there is a shortage of nurses willing to work in the current conditions at the bedside. I also threw in some stuff about PA's skyrocketing malpractice insurance which put our hospital in the red for the first time ever last year. We're "in the black" now, but that's only because they've raised our nurse-to-patient ratios.

I'd like to see Fast Eddie up to his elbows in a Code Brown or doing PM care on a baby!
That might as well of been an ad for the hotel industry.
Amen, dawngloves-- My sentiments exactly! I usually call him Fast Eddie, too!
I haven't received a response to my email sent to him about the commercial. I don't really expect to either, unfortunately.
