Anyone else a planner nerd?

Published

Finding motivation in the most appropriate of places today with my Happy Planner. I'm starting an ADN program this spring and I'm anticipating it to be rough. I wanted to share this bc I think this quote is powerful.

I love my Erin Condren Life Planner. I make stickers and am eagerly waiting for my classes to open so I can plan due dates and exams!!

Love my EC. I have a code for $10 off if anyone wants it.

I am a "cheap" planner nerd....

I usually find a design I like, make a mental image of it, and replicate it on Excel. :)

I am recently experimenting with creating my own system with ARC notebooks from Staples.

For the electronic gurus: Planner Plus for ipad synchs with Google calendar. It has day/week/month/tasks tabs as well.

Erin Condren planners are SO pretty. I've wanted one since I first heard about then a year or so ago. I just can't personally justify forking over $50-70 for one since 9 times out of 10, my planners end up getting thrashed (I usually get the small 5X8 ones, and the spine gets smashed at the bottom of my bag and it falls apart).

I ended up buying buying an 8X10 from Sugar Paper, Los Angeles for $10 and I really love it. I'm hoping it will last me longer since it's the size of a regular notebook.

I wanted to love EC planners - I bought twice - yes they are PRETTY - functional? Not as much! A friend had a cool planner from in the leafy treetops dot com - I am not mormon, but she is, and they sell "non-mormon" planners, which I bought for two years in a row. LOVE LOVE LOVE this planner! I have 5 kids so with 5 kids, a husband (in the military with lots of functions to attend!), and me in school - this planner is AWESOME! However, I needed a change of pace, and this year I am trying the Passion Planner. We shall see!

Can you update with how you like your passion planner? I looked at that last year!

Sure! It was shipped yesterday, hoping I get it Monday. They were backordered for a while. Did you know you can download their planner for free/PDF and try it for yourself? Honestly, I wish I were that organized, but I know I'll print it all out and never get it bound, so I just bought it already bound. Would be good for someone that wanted it in a three ring binder I think.

I love my ECLP, also! I ended up making my own stickers because I couldn't find any that fit my needs. It started a trend and I opened my own Etsy store. It helps compensate for lack of income, not by much, but more importantly it allows me to be creative. Studying can be SO draining! Thank goodness for having another outlet that gives me such happiness!

I found my people!!! I'm a HUGE planner nerd! Before I started nursing school, I actually surfed these discussion boards on which to buy, leading me to chose the uncalendar. That thing is BUILT for list checkers like me :) it's not as pretty as some others but it works SO WELL!!! I converted several other people in my nursing class, and my husband bought 2 :) I can't recommend it to others enough. It organizes my entire life, not just school and work. I plan my meals, grocery lists, workout routines, social commitments, class, clinical, work, and study blocks. I tried once to stop using it over a holiday break and that lasted 2 days before I went back to it. I'm on my second one, and the beauty is that you use EVERY page because you choose the dates. If you go on a trip, you can easily skip that week and not lose a page in the planner. No waste :)

Phone glitched... Sorry for the double post!

I got a Filofax Personal as a going back to school gift last month--I'm not nearly as creative as the Filofaxers I've seen on Pinterest, but I like having a place to write everything out. I'm a little old school that way. I found a printable periodic table online that was made to fit the Filofax and HAD to have it. 😛

Okay, now I have to know what etsy store you have :)! I also have been tempted to buy some stickers off of etsy!

My planner is my diary. LOL but really, I'd be so lost without it. Even after graduating from nursing school I still use it every day.

Time management was a huge part of nursing school for me.. so those that do not currently use a planner I highly recommend getting one!

I journal in mine too. I write everything down. I even write down what I did that day after it happened. I've been doing this since high school.
