Hey,
I am applying for and will *hopefully* be accepted into the Air Force health professions as an officer! I am so excited and am reaching out to see if there is anyone else out there in my shoes? I had my MEPS last week, getting all of my paper work together; most likely to be completed by the end of November. Is there anyone else applying for COT training next year? Please message me!
Or is there anybody who had gone through the COT and what to expect? I know that every body had new and different experiences but I am interested on how to prepare: what to study, how to work out!, etc.
Hope to hear back from some body! This message board is usually what I would 'google' when searching for some information on Air Force COT for nurses.
Thank you!

ATLRN0828 - Glad to hear something is progressing, I hope it keeps up!!
mkb0521 - I am applying for med/surg. My ultimate goal is to get into OB but since I don't have any experience in that area I can't apply for it. I officially started the paperwork at the beginning of november, so it really has been too bad so far. My recruiter said it would be tight but that we can get it done in the time crunch. I am only worried because of the way my schedule is, i might not be able to get to MEPS til mid dec. Yikes! and if i need a waiver for anything, who knows if i'll need it or not. I want to have time to get it through. When is the official deadline for paperwork? I am going to give my recruiter a call tomorrow, he said he would send me the medical form thurs. So I better get a hold of him before thanksgiving so that doesnt delay me even more.
Hello everyone, just wanted to see if anyone else has made any progress with their packets yet. I finally sent in my medical forms, just waiting for MEPS. I had a little snag. Apparently I have some things on my credit report that need a waiver, so I'm working on that. I hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving and are having less problems than I am.
Hi BritBr,
I did have a good Thanksgiving. What about you?
Just spoke with my recruiter a little while ago (thanks because reading your post made me remember to call her). She said she just received word from the MEPS office about my medical documents, and it's a go:D! I can schedule an appointment to take the physical and also schedule a date for my interview with the CNO. However, I have to revise this question and CV information. And it seems like it is taking forever for my recommendations to come in...UGH !
I hope you get everything straightened out with your credit. Are those the only things you have left?

Glad to hear your making progress. I know it's frustrating but we will make it through. I still MEPS, CNO interview and now the waiver. My evals are out, just waiting for them to be completed. I will likely need medical waiver so I am pretty stressed about that. I can't wait to get all this paperwork done already. Do you happen to know the official date that we need to have our packets in?
BritBr
I'm not exactly sure when the paperwork needs to be completed by. I'm trying to have everything done by the holiday so I will not have to worry about it. All my recruiter said is that the board meets in January, but she did not give a specific date.
She sent my medical documents to the MEPS office for review before the holiday and she just heard back from them yesterday at about 11am. It really didn't take them that long to clear me given that the holiday was last week. So maybe it won't take long for you, if you do have to have a medical waiver. I'm not sure if I will have to have a waiver after the physical (well I'm not really sure what a waiver actually is or what detemines if you will need one or not). I'm assuming since they cleared me for MEPS then I'm all good in that department.
I sent out 6 evals and everyone said they have mailed it to her. HOWEVER, she said she has only received 1. 2 of the evals I could not use because they were not from nurses (I did not know they were only suppose to be filled out by nurses since she did not make that clear and I figured these are people that have know me for over 10 years and could judge my character/work ethic). 3 people said they mailed it to her but my recruiter insist that she never received them (so I'm not really sure what happened with them). So now I have to hound them again to redo them.
