Anyone else anticipating January submission for Air Force COT 2012?!
ATLRN0828 Glad to hear your making progress. I know it's frustrating but we will make it through. I still MEPS, CNO interview and now the waiver. My evals are out, just waiting for them to be completed. I will likely need medical waiver so I am pretty stressed about that. I can't wait to get all this paperwork done already. Do you happen to know the official date that we need to have our packets in?

Anyone else anticipating January submission for Air Force COT 2012?!
Hello everyone, just wanted to see if anyone else has made any progress with their packets yet. I finally sent in my medical forms, just waiting for MEPS. I had a little snag. Apparently I have some things on my credit report that need a waiver, so I'm working on that. I hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving and are having less problems than I am.

ATLRN0828 - Glad to hear something is progressing, I hope it keeps up!! mkb0521 - I am applying for med/surg. My ultimate goal is to get into OB but since I don't have any experience in that area I can't apply for it. I officially started the paperwork at the beginning of november, so it really has been too bad so far. My recruiter said it would be tight but that we can get it done in the time crunch. I am only worried because of the way my schedule is, i might not be able to get to MEPS til mid dec. Yikes! and if i need a waiver for anything, who knows if i'll need it or not. I want to have time to get it through. When is the official deadline for paperwork? I am going to give my recruiter a call tomorrow, he said he would send me the medical form thurs. So I better get a hold of him before thanksgiving so that doesnt delay me even more.

Hi ALTRN0828 Glad to see I'm not alone, I have everything done except the evaluations. I am still waiting for my coworkers to get those done. I wouldn't normally be frustrated but I get the feeling I might need a waiver and I know that takes time too and I don't want that to hold me up for the January selection. As long as I don't need any medical waivers, I'm good to go. I'll keep you guys updated as much as I can. It's good to have a place to discuss and vent frustrations.

Anyone else anticipating January submission for Air Force COT 2012?!
Hi All, I am looking to put my paperwork in for January but I feel like nothing is done. I have not been to MEPS yet. I am starting to freak out but my recruiter is pretty laid back and is saying we have plenty of time. So hopefully I will hear when I can go to MEPS soon. Good luck to all of you and I hope the process is made as painless as possible for all involved!

Calling all AF nurses
Thanks Clarabow, I just got off the phone with my recruiter and he pretty much told me that I can't go directly into OB as an experienced nurse. It's a little frustrating. I am totally willing to do the extra couple of years, its just setting my goals back a little. I would rather get into my specialty now. It's too early in the process for me to be this frustrated.

Calling all AF nurses
Hi clarabow, thanks for the help. I took the first step, contacting a recruiter but they haven't gotten back to me yet. I know their motto - hurry up and wait. I just wish I would get some kind of response soon.

Calling all AF nurses
Hello all, This is my first post but I have been on the board reading many of the post you guys have posted. My interests and questions are very similar to what most of you have already posted but i was wondering if anyone would answer this for me while I wait for a recruiter to get back to me. I graduated nursing school in May 2010 and I have been working as in tele for the last year. by the time I get through paper work and everything I am sure I will have 2 years experience but my passion has always been mother/baby and L/D. Does anyone know if they would train me to be an obstetric nurse or would I need to get experience first? I am sure they would prefer the experience but what is the likelihood that they would hire me for obstetrics? Also, if there are any willing AF nurses or any military nurse actually who would be willing to talk to me, please let me know. I have a lot of questions about day to day type things. Thank you all in advance and I can't wait to get to know you guys. BritBr
