Hello Everyone!
I've just received my acceptance into Monroe College's Progressive Nursing Program for the Winter semester! So I just figured id make a thread for any other people who are currently attending or have recently gotten accepted into the program.
For those of your currently attending, how is it going so far?
Is there anything I should know before the semester starts?
Id love to hear how everyone is doing and possibly get to know my fellow nursing students!

Hey. It’s going good for me so far. Most of the professors are good, overall my experience is good so far. The TEAS was not bad. I believe it was much harder for me as I never really had background knowledge of A&P so I had to work twice as hard. The other sections of the TEAS were fairly easy. For perquisites they require I believe that depends on the nursing program you want to go into cause they have traditional, lpn, traditional, progressive etc.
Hello, I am a student at Monroe college. I am in my first semester of the RN program and have also completed the Lpn program there. It is possibly one of the worst schools I have ever attended. There is constant turnover with staff, we have gotten maybe 5 clinical days of on site experience in my entire time at Monroe (including in the Lpn program) and we have been virtual for the most part. We haven’t even been able to get on campus to use the labs for SKILLS. The Dean is constantly giving us the run around of what has been expected of us, and nothing is clear to us. They are constantly messing up schedules, and we have been left to pretty much teach ourselves. I do not know if it has anything to do because of covid but I have had one of the worst experiences here. The only reason I am sticking it out is because I do not want the hassle of transferring to another school, I’d have to start over. Remember that this is a for-profit school, and that they are NOT concerned about us as students, but are more concerned about their ratings and stats. I absolute do not recommend this school. I self-taught myself all topics for my NCLEX-PN. Unless you want to be stressed out, constantly having to chase people down for answers, and having your cohort constantly have to advocate for us as students, then you’ll love Monroe. Otherwise, stay far away from this school.
