what swayed you to do choose nursing over the other?

I completed a medical assistant program about 7 years ago, but the pay is not good. I looked into the Xray tech program, but the opportunities are somewhat limited to hospitals, urgent care clinics, chiropractors, and mobile Xray services. Physical therapy aides and occupational therapy aides enjoy decent pay, good working hours, and warm relationships with patients, but the advancement opportunities are limited. Ultrasound techs are paid well, but they are limited in the places where they are employable. Massage therapists have difficulty finding places of employment that will offer them a steady 40 hour work week.
I can go on and on. . .
Nursing is the most flexible.

I think it sounds boring and monotonous.
