Anyone attending or taken the Accelerated BSN at Concordia in Irvine?

Published

Just wondering if anyone has taken this 12month program? Seems like a decent alternative to Mt. St. Mary's and CSUN as this is right here in Orange County.

Commetns appreciated.

Hi alizard. I received an e-mail from Concordia last week. I'm in the Thursday interview session. I don't know how many applied for the January session...I'm sorry!

Thanks. Ugh. I guess that is bad news if I didn't hear yet then. I really wish that I could call and let them know how interested I am.

Hi alizard......I was notified the same way as diverdown......Best of luck!

Thanks.

Does anyone know how they calculate the gpa requirements? Whether it is only your bachelor's degree, only your pre-reqs, last 60 hours?

Also, do they interview everyone they are considering, or is there any chance that without an interview you will still get in?

Just curious, thanks.

I did not even know that they have two interview sessions.. hmm.. How did you get those information? So, anyone attended the Monday interview session?

Hi Everyone!

Yes, I was also wondering if anyone had any tips on the group interviews for nursing at CUI. I've looked up general nursing interviews online, but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I am going to start the program in the fall!

About the interview process, everyone at CUI is really nice and friendly. There were 2 (or 3) days of interviews. On my day there were about 20 of us. I know they said they were going to interview 55-60 people and pick 30 to be in the program.

You were interviewed in groups of 5, basically just normal interview/nursing questions. Why you want to be a nurse...why you would be a good nurse.

To find out I got an interview I got a call and then an email.

I think a month later I found out I got in the program by the packet the came in the mail!

LuckyKim I got your Private Message but do not have enough posts to private message back! so sorry.

As for dress code: just wear something professional. The girls were wearing either skirts and blouses and nice slacks and blouses, some wore jackets.

For my interview, all of us in the mini group were asked the same questions and we either went in order to give our answers, or whoever wanted to answer would just go first.

Something to think about is just answer the question they ask, do not go off on tangents about random things...we all have a tendency to this when we are nervous! Just listen to the question and think about it, and give an honest and concise answer. Don't be afraid to take a second to compose your thoughts before you start speaking.

Like i said before, everyone at the interview was SO nice and made everyone feel very comfortable!

Everybody!!

How was the interview? :)

Hi Luckykim. Thanks so much for your advice. The interviews went great!

Hey, diverdown!!

Maybe I saw you yesterday, however did know who you are~~

which group were you in? It's good to hear that you did good on your interview. :) I was not satisfied with my answers for some questions. I think I was too nervous and could hear my heart beats. haha.

I liked everybody in there, some were very impressive to me.

Let's pray together! and Let's keep our faith in God.

I'm just curious. Does anyone know how many males were at the interviews? Were there that many?

Also who is the Dean of the School of Nursing? Is there one?

Thanks.

Hello, alizard!

This is Kim :)

There were only three males at the interview. (I hope I counted right)

alizard, I want you to apply one more time only if you did not get an interview chance.

I was in the same situation you are in now... for fall 2009 term.

I was depressed, didn't know what to do. However, I prayed continuously..

And I re-wrote my personal statement for this term. I was very honest on my personal letter...

Your grade and gpa have to be good enough, however Concordia university is

a Christian school. They also look at your personality and personal aspects as well.(in my opinion)

Cheer up and pray... until the God answers for your prayers.

Best of luck to you.

Kim
