Hi,
Since there was a very extensive thread last year about application process to Yale, I thought I would start a new thread for 2009 hopefuls. I am working on my application and wanted to know who else chose Yale as one of their options. What program? How is the application process going? Essay writing? Any anxieties? I am applying to the Adult Advanced Practice Nursing but still deciding on the specialty. The hardest part for me is the essay writing as English is not my first language, but I have been working on it for some time now and getting close to finishing the final version. Anyone else wants to share?
I guess I was freaking out a little just in case I dont get into Yale. I started thinking about meeting the pre-requisite course so that I could apply next year to more than one school. Ok. I am not going to freak out. I can do this @ most 16 more days to go. I am not alone in this, we are in this situation together. No matter what in 4 more years, I will be where I want to be in life. Positive thoughts. ok.
Hey guys,
I'm glad it's not just me that's replaying the interview in my head and thinking, doh, why did/didn't I say that??
I actually missed Angela's last remarks because I was at the interview, but I noticed that a few people mentioned that she said they would make the decisions on Feb 9 and send out notices on the 13th.
So, they're not making final decisions until the 9th? I am taking a full year A and P course and I wanted to submit my in progress mark to help my application, but wasn't able to get it before the interview. Do you think it's still worthwhile to send it along?
Thanks!

Its definitely not going to hurt you. If it's not too much trouble then of course, go ahead and send it. However, I don't think that the progress note will make OR break you.
hi all,
just wanted to add what i know about the weight of the interview. at the end of mine, my interviewer said "i wish i could tell you what your odds are, but i'm not sure what your ranking is". oh boy! ugh. so it sounds like they already had an idea of who the top people were prior to the interview. i'm not sure if that's a good thing or not...
also, for those of you who applied to psych...she told me there's 7-8 spots for child and the same for adolescent. 16 people were interviewed for each. eek! best of luck and hang in there!
2 more weeks!
I just really, really hope that Angela calls/sends out emails as well so that we don't all have to wait for snail mail letters to arrive. I don't know about you guys, but I'm much more of a fan of email notifications... much quicker and less painful (none of that going out to the mailbox in suspense... then instantly drawing a conclusion based on the size of the envelope...ugh!) Stay strong, everyone!!
I am not thrilled about the snail mail notifications. It is hard enough to keep checking your email mailbox, never mind sitting at work/school and thinking about whether back home there is a letter waiting... . I missed the closing remarks by Angela during my interview day. Did she say whether she would be calling/emailing in addition to the official snail mail letter?
This waiting is exhausting...

From what I've heard there will be calls/emails in addition to snail mail, but I'm not sure in what order.

Great advice! I think since we all know what we want to do, we will make it happen regardless of a rejection letter. Positive thoughts! :)
