I thought I would start another thread about Yale GEPN. Would like to hear from anyone and everyone thats applying to the program for the fall of 2008? Its obvious that all of those that applied for the fall of this year have gotten their acceptance letters and congrats to them all, hopefully I will meet them all next year. In the meantime, I would like to hear from those going for the fall of 08. What were your major/degree in undergrad? Where are u now in the application process?

Hope to hear from all...

Congrats to everyone so far as well!

Denise, I didn't get an email either :banghead:

Hopefully she is still sending them out?

Just got an email - I've been waitlisted...

Hang in there, 99bobotw,

Remember Angela said they admit ~140 students for roughly 80 spots, and obviously not everyone that is admitted end up being enrolled. Keep your heads up! :)

I got wait listed too...agh! I'm glad I didn't get flat out rejected, cause there still is a chance. It just sucks that I'll have to put down a deposit for Columbia to make sure that I will be going to school!! Oh well, congrats to everyone who got in!

Craig,

I would wait until the very last minute and see if there's anything. It sucks that both Yale and Columbia have same deadlines: March 14th. Hang in there buddy!

Yeah good point, at least we aren't total rejects...haha. :icon_roll

Yeah, I feel really confident that you guys will get off the waitlist. So many people are waiting on UCSF, have acceptances to Columbia, and a million other schools. Hang in there!

I got my email yesterday and I was accepted to the Midwifery program! I'm still debating a couple of other options, but it feels good to have been accepted!

Congrats to everyone!

Has anyone been thinking about the housing situation? I'm stuck in a little dilemma here. Part of me wants to live in a dorm and not to worry about stuff (food, apartment hunting, etc.) and the other part of me wants to live in an off-campus housing.

I know that if I ended up living in a dorm, it has to be the one with a private bathroom (Harkness Hall doesn't have private bathrooms- so it's gotta be the Hall of Graduate Studies).

Inputs, anyone?

Personally, after not living in dorms for 13 years, there is no way that I would go back to dorm living. I stayed in the dorm while I was visiting and it was nice, but I love having a kitchen, etc. Plus, I have two cats! I'm pretty sure that the dining halls are open to all students, so you could probably just grab food there if you needed.

Didn't they talk about how there would be a housing listserv that we would have access to? If I end up at Yale, I will definitely be living off campus, I would just have to decide whether or not to get a roommate. I also haven't had a roommate in 3 years. Oh, transition times...

I really don't mind either way. I've never lived in a dorm before so if I ended up in a dorm, it would be a whole new thing for me.

Like I said, as long as I have a private bathroom, I'll be a happy camper Anybody interested in being a roommate for off-campus housing? Email me at [email protected]

Does anybody know about how strict the dorm policies are?

I'm in the exact same situation. I have a cat, so I guess the Yale graduate housing isn't an option for me, which stinks... but I'm reluctant to take on a roommate, I've gotten so used to living by myself! Although the 2br apartments I've seen in New Haven are HUGE.

I think those of us who end up living alone should make sure to buddy up a bit and do some IKEA shopping together!
