I thought I would start another thread about Yale GEPN. Would like to hear from anyone and everyone thats applying to the program for the fall of 2008? Its obvious that all of those that applied for the fall of this year have gotten their acceptance letters and congrats to them all, hopefully I will meet them all next year. In the meantime, I would like to hear from those going for the fall of 08. What were your major/degree in undergrad? Where are u now in the application process?

ha, not at all! but i live in Boston and have a good friend at Yale right now... I'll just hop a Zipcar and drive down!

My interview isn't until the 18th. I'll be arriving in New Haven in the afternoon (I'm taking the metro north after I fly in to JFK) of the 17th, so besides the potluck and preparing for the interview, I won't have anything to do that evening. Whenever is good for others is good for me!

I'm interviewing for FNP as well (on the 18th)!

I'd love to meet up with you guys on the 17th. I'm really hoping I'll get there in time for the potluck. If everything goes according to plan I should arrive in the mid to late afternoon, which should give me just enough time to check in at the hotel and shuttle over to the potluck.

Please PM me if you guys decide to meet up, but if I can't make it I'll see you at the potluck. I'd love to meet you all!

That sounds waaaay easier than mine. In case you're interested to know; I live in Arkansas at the moment. On the same day that I received a letter from Yale, I also received an invitation from UCSF and a job offer (which I accepted) at SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse, NY.

So ... my plan is ...

01/17 flying from Arkansas to San Francisco

01/18 interview with UCSF, flying redeye to Syracuse

01/21 flying from Syracuse to New York City and take a train to New Haven

01/22 interview with Yale

01/23 take a train to New York City and catch a flight back to Syracuse

01/24 start working

Not to mention that I just got back from Syracuse last week to get my apartment lease signed and all. Talking about a busy month here

I'll be arriving in New Haven in the afternoon of the 17th. Depending on the weather, what do you think about grabbing a cup of coffee to go and walking around campus to see what it's like? I've heard 1)that the campus is amazing and 2) that we don't get much time on our interview days to go around and see everything. Then we can head on over to the potluck. BTW, is the potluck casual or what?

That sounds really great you guys! Depending on what time the interview day is done with, I'd love to meet up with you for a coffee to-go, and a stroll around campus, before the potluck begins. I do know that the potluck is casual, so I may change out of my suit into something more comfortable.

I have some travel questions that hopefully someone can help me with!

1)I'll be flying into JFK on the 17th in the AM and I plan on taking the metro north to New Haven. What is the best way to get from JFK to a metro north station (Is Grand Central the most convenient one?)?

2) Can you buy tickets for the metro north at the station, or do we need to buy them in advance?

3)How far is the New Haven station from Yale? And finally, are there taxis at the station?

Thanks! I know, I'm a dumb midwesterner...but I'll learn quickly!
