I'm a nervous wreck! I sent in my application a few weeks ago and now begins the long wait! I've searched all the threads on this site for Navarro information and have seen a lot of posters saying they didn't get into the program on their first try. I attended one of the very first information sessions back in October and there weren't that many of us, but the instructor said they usually have 500+ applicants! I know that's pretty standard for NS programs, but what type of chance does that leave me?!
Here's my stats: GPA 3.8
I got as many of the points as I possibly could: A's and B's in pre-req's and I've taken all the "suggested courses" too so that's a few more points each.
My TEAS score was a 90.5. I think she said the cutoff was 87.5, so that puts me just over their cutoff for even looking at the app. I just don't know what else I can do if I don't get in. I guess I'd go back and re-take AP 1 and 2 and try to get A's.
Anyone else care to share their experiences and what got you into Navarro or that you're applying this year and waiting with me?
Same here. I received the LVN confirmation back in January, but never heard anything from the ADN side. I called to make sure they had my application (that's my luck that it'd be lost in the mail!) and they did have it and were going through them all, but that was at the beginning of February. I wish they'd hurry up!!!! :)
Are yall talking about LVN program for Navarro who's main campus is in Corsicana? Im just wondering if its the same college. If it is, more than likely you got the acceptance letter of you application to get an application. Im in the LVN program now and we were off today because they were going through all the applications to figure out who was accepted into the program for the 2011-2012 program yr.
Not always, they have a ton of people that applied to the LVN program, they had all 3 campuses at one school today going over the final applications. Im sure the RN (ADN) program is doing the same. They have A LOT too. I "think" they also (RN's) have to go through the applications for the bridge program too. They all have been running ragged both programs going through the applications. I know the LVN normally get the official approval letters in May. Thats when I got mine. It will say on letter head, congrats, you were accepted. here are is the other list of things that need to be done before school starts. (its not a lot.)
So, they are going through all of the applications now-for RN and LVN programs? I called last Wednesday and was told that the RN acceptance letters would be mailed "by the end of April." We were originally told we would have them by the first week of April, but she said there was an error on her part that had to be fixed.
At the LVN meeting, they said letters would be mailed sometime in June. I got the application and then the letter saying they had received it, but have heard nothing else from either side.
I wish we knew how many had applied for both programs? 200? 300? This waiting is killing me.....
That is crazy. I guess when they changed the deadline from March 1, to February 1 that I threw everything off. I dont know, I have not called because I didnt get a warm and fuzzy feeling when I emailed to ask if they had received my application... I excitedly check the mail every day, I think I am just gonna give up for a few days and then one day it will magically appear. I think I am praying for a thick envelope...maybe?
