I haven't heard from any Gwinnett Tech applicants on here lately, is anyone here applying? I took the HESI evolve reach today, and I feel like I may still be in the running for one of the few spots that they have available. If anyone here thinks they might possibly get in, lets all start some communication on here so we can keep up with everything that's going on.
Has anyone been accepted elsewhere? Is Gwinnett Tech your first choice if you get accepted to their program?
I did not apply anywhere else. GTC was the only program that fit my budget, locational, and time requirements. Plus, i really do like the school. If I do not make it this year, i WILL reapply next year. I did take the NET and did well on it, but i had such a bad experience with GPC during the investigatory phase (they would not answer or return phone calls)and i did not feel very safe on the Clarkston campus, so i did not apply there.

I completely agree with you about GPC. They don't return phone calls and the neighborhood did look a little suspect. But I am willing to go if I have to because I have young children and I need to get in nursing school soon. I just pray that I get accpted to GTC!
Ive had a a few classes at Clarkston and Decatur and it looks worse than it is. I wouldn't worry about it unless you leave campus.
GPC looks more at that stupid net test than they do grades. I think thats a little odd. The only school that seems to have it right is Georgia Highlands College. They use your SAT but thats waved if you already have a 4 year degree.
SATS???? Wow, i am so glad i did not apply there. The high school i went to (back in the 1970s) had us take the ACTs and i think that is a TERRIBLE assessment of knowledge/ability. I know for me personally, i could have not have gone to college after high school. I was a wild child and had a lot of growing up to do. I have gone back to school as a middle age woman, but i am smarter, more driven, and an increadibly good student. I am not crazy about standardized tests now (HATED the Evolve) but at least it was a little bit of an applicable measurement of ability.
I agree with you but the SAT is no worse than the NET. The A2 did have some biology and A&P that could be useful in nursing school. The NET had 15 questions of A&P which GPC doesnt even look at. I don't have a great SAT score but I do have a 4 year degree. GPC doesnt care about that though, they just want people that know how to take standardize test which is why they have a 50% fail rate of some of the classes.
sorry, had to vent
