I haven't heard from any Gwinnett Tech applicants on here lately, is anyone here applying? I took the HESI evolve reach today, and I feel like I may still be in the running for one of the few spots that they have available. If anyone here thinks they might possibly get in, lets all start some communication on here so we can keep up with everything that's going on.
well, i am making the assumption that they are doing it on gpa of 0.1 up to 4.0. that would be a total of 40 possible gpa scores, so if you divide 50 points given for gpa by the 40 possible gpas you get each gpa worth 1.25...40 x 1.25= 50 points...3.9 gpa would be 39 x 1.25 = 48.75 and so on. Then, for the test, you would take the score and multiply it by .5. Does that make sense? i thought she said that the invitation would go out to the top 60 based on those 2 scores combined and then after that we would get added in the points for working in the industry, having all non nursing courses completed and for the interview. She did not give us an average for those subjective type scores.
Let me know if you think i am off on my thinking.
what school is this and where is it at? im looking for an lpn to rn 1yr program any suggestions
It's Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Ga. There is no bridge program as of yet. Try Georgia Perimeter College, they might have one. I know Georgia State for sure has a bridge program, good luck!

I know who to ask if I need help on a math question! Your system sounds right to me. But that leads me to wonder if the 0.1 to 4.0 would actually be 2.5 to 4.0 since that is the minimum g.p.a. allowed? Nah, probably not, I think yours makes more sense.
I had honestly thought that too about the 2.5 being the bottom of the scale, but as long as you are using the same scale to compare last year to this and one person to another, the point is moot. i do not have a clue how they are going to weigh semesters vs quarter hours or what kinds of "couple of points" they will give for work experience.
Honestly, it does not at all sound like an exact science to me, but it seems to work for them.
The final puplicized session of the Evolve A2 will be wrapping up in an hour. After that, i think my every nerve will be standing on end. I am still suprised that the interviews are next week. That is not very much notifiication at all for working adults. My work schedule has been out for over a month, and right now both our census and our accuity is running very high on the floor. My head nurse is awsome and said she will work with me, but i would really hate to leave the unit short handed. Plus that is yet just another layer of stress. I am trying to keep a positive outlook, but there is this small little piece inside of me that feels very shook. Right now i just want to get on with my life, one way or another. This is the school for me and if i dont get in this year, i will:
1) Reapply next year
2) retake biology, not for a better grade but for a better understanding( i must have forgotten a bunch in the years since i took it. I scored a 96 on A&P and an 84 on Biology...UGH) Plus, there were a couple of questions in the biology section that i have NEVER heard of...intervention????
3) Work, work and work, gaining more and more experience in the field.
My husband reminds me that it will not be the end of the world if i dont make the cut. I, on the other hand, really want to get this relaunching of careers over with before my 50th birthday.
I sure hope my clock hands do not continue to move this slowly...
I can relate to alot of what you're saying. This is a new career for me too, and with a husband and kids, it's like we're ALL on standby waiting to see if I get into nursing school. This is torture! The fall class for GA Perimeter College are starting to get their acceptance letters as of yesterday. I applied there too as a "plan B", but I still haven't gotten a letter yet. Gwinnett Tech is my 1st choice, that is, if I have the option of choosing. Good luck to you Wifeofwhiskeyg, and to all of us here on this forum. I hope we ALL get in, after all we have proven to ourselves, and others, we certainly deserve it!
