Anyone Applying to Delta College for Spring 2011

With only 4 weeks until we can start applying, I thought that it would be nice to start a new thread so that we can all keep in touch, pass along information, and post our stats.

I got my dress today. But I want to know the name of the cd we need for fundamentals of nursing.

is it mosby's cd or LIPPON...'S CD.:confused:

Yay!! Just got my uniforms....the neighbor picked up ourpackage while we were out of town. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to have the pants altered...I'm just too short ;-) Sooo excited for our program to begin!!

I have a question for you guys about the uniforms. Did you guys purchase your patches and do we have to put those on ourselves?

Slberry I purchased my patches at the fittings. Yes we have to put them on ourselves and I was told they must be sewn on not ironed on or our clinical instructors will get cranky about it. We can purchase them the first week but I don't remember where they said to buy them from. Sorry.

At the fitting I didn't have cash on me and she was saying she hoped to come to class with them one day during the english 33 class but that we could also get them from the nursing office.

Hi slrberry, I got mine at the fitting also. Kind of hard to believe they were $8 each (and I needed two since I'll have two shirts). Oh well, it's still worth it, just to be in the program :)

I tried just now to register for Eng33A, the study skills class, and it says it's full so I'm waitlisted. I called the health sciences division, forgetting that it's break for them. Their message said they won't be back until Jan 10, when school starts. Since the class is strongly recommended I'm assuming I'll be added, right? I know in the packet it says you can be added on the first day of the class, so I hope that's right and they have a big enough classroom for everyone.

RNbound - I would definately recommending going to the first day of class. When I went to the counselor last semester she said to go even if the wait list was full because instructors would usually take students that did.

Thanks SBNRN2B, I'll try that. This is my first time taking classes at Delta so I'm not sure what the process is. Hopefully I won't get lost on campus! Beautiful campus, but it's like a maze there.

RNbound - My first time too! Yes it is a beautiful campus, I'm hoping as we go thru the program it gets easier to navigate because I'm with you its a maze. I"m wondering how early I should leave my house. I know how long the drive is but I don't know how long it is to park and FIND the classroom,lol. Looking forward to meeting you.

Those of you that recieved your uniforms, did they provide you with a tracking number once it shipped? I got an email yesterday saying they had charged my card but no tracking information.

Yes, I got tracking info. They ship through UPS. When I talked to one of the ladies over the phone she said to add an extra 30 minutes for parking during the first week of the semester. Hopefully the week of English 33 we can get a little but acquainted with the campus & find parking easily :-)
