Anyone applying to Cyfair or Kingwood college for Spring08?

Published

I am applying with a 11.489, and I hope to get in. If there is anyone that is already in either of these programs that can give me advice,or what they like/dislike about either one would be greatly appreciated! :0

I applied for the spring 2008 program as well but have not heard from cy-fair yet. have you? I emailed them a couple of times asking when they'll be mailing letters. they said they'll post it on the website once they decided when the letters will be mailed.

The wait is killing me. I wanna know very soon.

No, I haven't heard anything, either. What were your points?

I have 11.56 something.

I've been reading a thread from applicants who applied for spring of 07 and got in and I found out that they did not start recieving letters till first week of November, so i guess that's the month they'll be mailing the letters to the spring of 08 applicants too. I tell you, hearing that sure lifts my spirit up a little bit. I started to have doubts whether i get in or not because i have not heard from cy-fair till now, and I wait for that letter everyday in my mailbox.

Best of luck to you.. I think your score is big enough to get in. Keep me posted.

Kingwood's nursing site states that they will be mailing out letters in November and to please not call them. I applied for spring 08 for the evening program. I don't know my score because I had to have som course substituitions but I know it's about 11 something. I'm really hoping I get in, I'll just hate that I'll be driving from Katy!!

Where in the kingwood website did you find that they'll be mailing out the letter on November? I went there and could not find it. I looked in home and in nursing page but nothing. I did find out that you could now retake all biology classes as many times as you like within 5 years. I'm glad i'm through with that but good to the applicants who wants to improve their points.

Best of luck to you! I hope you get in too.

Hello!

I am currently in the Cy-Fair nursing program I started in August. Good luck to all that applied and don't worry they do take a while to send the letters. The best advice I can give so far considering it has only been one month is time management and organization. If you do not have to work then don't. It is alot of work and I will not lie it is challenging but it can be done! Just hang in there and good luck! ;)

My best friend is in Cy-fair too. She got in the same time you got in...And like you said, organization, organization, and good study habits is what she said the key is... She's nervous and hanging in there. Now i'm excited but nervous for my future in nursing. But I first hope to get in for the spring program.

Everyone says it is hard to get in for Spring because of so few slots. Does anyone know what the minimum g.p.a. they accepted for last year Spring? I was up all night depressed I would not get in when I saw that you all have 11.4 and 11.5. How many slots do they normally have each spring at Cy-Fair and Kingwood each Spring?

When I turned my application in at Kingwood, they told me they just got approval for the day program, so this year they will accept 60 in the spring, 30 for day and 30 for evening. I believe Cy-Fair is still at 30 slots, but I'm not sure. I think as long as you have in the 11 range you will have a shot. It all really depends on the application pool. Don't be depressed just yet! All you can do is apply and see how it goes. And if you don't get it for spring you probably have a better shot in the fall. Best of luck to you! We should hear something soon now!

i just visited cy-fair college's website. it says "as of oct. 22, the letters of acceptance and non-acceptance have not been mailed out yet." they must be flooded with calls and emails asking if the letters have been mailed. i guess it's gonna be first week of nov..

i should be studying and getting myself ready for the pharmacology hesi but i'm not motivated to study until i'll receive that acceptance/non-acceptance letter. i already took pharma in tc but i heard i have to take the hesi in order to get a credit for the subject in cy-fair, which i think is dumb.

i didn't know cy-fair only have 30 slots for spring. i thought they have 50-60? well if they're only taking 30 applicants, then there's gonna be serious competition. but cad is right. as long as we have 11 and above score, we have a shot at it. if not, there's always fall where all 5 colleges are open for application. i just don't think i can handle another rejection but then again, i may have a shot at getting accepted in tc for fall, which is my first choice.

"never give up!"

:balloons:YAY!!!:balloons: I got my acceptance letter on Saturday to Kingwood. At 35, I feel like I've waited forever for this. How about the other Kingwood applicants?
