I am applying with a 11.489, and I hope to get in. If there is anyone that is already in either of these programs that can give me advice,or what they like/dislike about either one would be greatly appreciated! :0
I have heard horrible things about CyFair and was actually going to decline it if I got accepted. I went to the orientation for Kingwood and felt so good about it. They do everything they can to work with you! I believe I can make it. There were some women there whose first choice were CyFair but they didnt get it, and people were encouraging them not to go there, to stay at Kingwood. Plus Cy-Fair is a 6 semester program whereas Kingwood is 4. Also Kingwood is supposed to come out with a totally online program for fall 08 if you have a previous bachelors degree. Maybe you can go to Cy Fair for the first semester and transfer. How many days a week do you have to go at Cy Fair. Actually Cy-Fair was going to be my first choice but I started doing research and asking questions and I changed my mind.Good luck
Cy Fair is NOT a six semester program. I know, because I am starting my fourth semester there. If you start in the spring, it is 5 semesters (One semester is a 8 week summer semester) and if you start in the fall, it is four semesters, but you have to take Med Surg I and II in one semester.

I attended the Kingwood orientation on Monday and like everyone has said, they were so very friendly and helpful. It seems that they are becoming a really progressive school to have only had an ADN program for 3 years. I'd love to take the online option and graduate summer 09 instead of December. I'm really looking forward to the challenge. Yes, I'm taking classes M/W evenings and Sat clinical and wow, the book list definetely looks intimidating!!!
Abouth the CPR, they said they would accept the Red Cross but they prefer the AHA, something about having to redo the Red Cross every year, I think. They are offering CPR at the Kingwood campus on 12/8 and 12/15. I'm scheduled for this Sat. It's $42 plus $16 cash for the book paid on the day of the class. I wish you all well at your campuses.
