Hi there! So i am patiently (as possible!) waiting to hear back from CSU Stanislaus and Sonoma - Im getting to the point where Im reaaly anxious and nervous - and checking my email and mail 13872194 times a day :) Anyone else out there waiting too? Lol it'd be nice to have someone go crazy with me!
Ann, Congratulations on graduating!! What an accomplishment! Can you tell me a little about the program? I know it is 6 semesters - do you feel like you have extra time on your hands, or do they keep you pretty busy? Do you work a part-time job? The program sounds awesome so far, and that great to hear about their pass rates;) Also - where do you do your clinicals? I grew up in the area, so im pretty familiar w/ the hospitals. Thank you for answering my questions for me!:redbeathe
Hi Yelle,
The program will keep you very busy! I do work part time, but waited until after the 2nd semester. I haven't had "free" time on my hands since I started school 6 years ago:eek: LOL! Our clinicals are done at some of the local hospitals; Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, Memorial and Doctor's in Modesto, St. Joseph's in Stockton, Children's in Madera (a weekend for Peds...don't know if this will continue, though). Mental health rotations are done at Stanislaus Behavioral (used to be DBHC, or is now DBHC) and Merced (I can't remember what it is called, but it used to be "the Manor" ) it is kind of a scary place, but we were all fine there.
Just be prepared for your life to change. It is hard to go through, but the reward is definitely worth it!
Let me know if you have more questions,
Ann
hmm after reviewing the 6 semesters and it's courses, it doesnt seem to look too bad at about 14units max per semester. does anyone know if human development over the life span, nutrition and pharmacology classes from CCs transfer over? i'm not too sure about the later two but I think human dev should transfer over easily; all the courses i took were 4quarter units each but the pharm/nutr courses at stan. is sort of a hybrid.
im starting to choose stan over sac even if it's 2 years, 15+ units per semester sounds like it'll drive me crazy lol. are you going to the orientation on the 21st yelle?
Oh good - You had me worried! lol - So yes i will definitely be there on the 15th. Probably not on the 21st tho, are u gonna go to that one? When are you going to do the new student orientation for the University? - that I am not too excited for , but i guess we have to do that before they will let us register for our classes. So are you planning on renting an appt or house? I've been looking at housing in Modesto, it seems a little more affordable - havent found much in Turlock so far
yeah im going to the info session just so i can get a feel of waht to expect over the next few years do you know if the orientation on the 15th is totally separate from the new student orientation or if its the same thing? i don't want to go back and forth haha
as for housing i've never been in the area or anywhere even close, so i dont know what i'm looking for yet. maybe find a singlet in a house or something, but we'll see as summer draws closer. thats when housing panick kicks in haha. how far is modesto from the campus? keep me updated on housing around the area please :) it'll help when i actually start looking for somerthing too. thanks!

Welcome to CSUS!! I am 28 days from graduating from it and would recommend it to anyone. It is a relatively new program, but the faculty is great. Their doors are open and they welcome input!
If you would like to ask questions, please feel free. I will do my best to give you the answers you are looking for. Also, call the nursing office or make an appointment to see a faculty member.
Last year, the pass rate was 100%. I am praying it is the same this year:yeah:.
Let me know if I can help...
Ann
