Anyone aplying to UW Oshkosh Accel. BS to BSN?

U.S.A. Wisconsin

I just applied to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Online Accelerated BS to BSN program. The next cohort will start May 2009. I am excited and curious if any one else is out there applying or if any one else is in the program now. If so how is it?

I applied to the October 2010 cohort. Does anyone know when they would start the online interviews? If anyone can help me, that would be great. Thanks!!!

I applied for the October cohort and had my online interview today...

They sent me an e-mail on Friday (4/2) which said my application had been received, and then I was asked to e-mail them a time and date to do the interview.

Really?? Now I'm really nervous. I didn't think they would start so soon.

I didn't get the email either. It could be because I didn't apply until two weeks before the deadline and one of my references was late due to an illness. I'm not worried about it since I did all I could do..they would be lucky to have me.

Hmm...I have no idea why I got my interview so soon, because I sent my application the Monday before it was due. My last name begins with an "A;" maybe they interview the applicants in alphabetical order.

Like ejcl68 said, there isn't much point in worrying; we've already done all we can to prepare for the program; now we can just hope and wait...

I emailed Becky today to make sure they got all of my application materials. Hopefully I hear back from her tomorrow. So what was the online interview like?

Advising told me to be very patient with the process as it's long..so I am not surprised. Thankfully I am accepted to another great program :) Yay!!!! Big weight off my shoulders. Good luck to all of you.

Glad to have found this thread. I am working to complete my prereq and apply for the May 2011 cohort. I will be starting my CNA clinicals next week and hope to have my certificate shortly afterwards. Do you think there is a preference (application strength) between working at a hospital or a nursing home. As many have said before, the hospital jobs are slim and can now require experience. Thank you for the input.

I haven't heard anything back either. I submitted all my application materials on time too. I'm guessing they haven't set up all the interviews yet. I heard that almost everyone who's qualified (sent in all app materials on time, etc.) gets an online interview. So... Let's keep our fingers crossed! Good luck everyone!

The interview wasn't too bad. You have to answer 6 questions (there's an optional 7th) in 30 minutes.

They are mostly regarding why you want to be a part of the program and why you think you're a good candidate for the program etc.

I wouldn't worry about the online interview.... If you basically qualify you get the online interview. And i think most people get a phone interview too.. (but don't quote me on that) they are insanely busy and they are getting ready to start the newest cohort.

Kimberly (tkzv),

As far as working in a hospital or a nursing home, I'm under the impression that either one is perfectly fine. I was told that those settings are preferred because it gives you a chance to work on your skills and you get the chance to get use to working with multiple patients/residents at one time. Hope that helps!!
