Anyone aplying to UW Oshkosh Accel. BS to BSN?

U.S.A. Wisconsin

I just applied to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Online Accelerated BS to BSN program. The next cohort will start May 2009. I am excited and curious if any one else is out there applying or if any one else is in the program now. If so how is it?

hi,

I am looking for an online BS to BSN degree program and U of W - O. K has been the only one that ive come across so far. Reading through the post, one of the major concerns seems to be the application process and the selective admissions. This concerns me. seeing that i have not found many online bs to bsn programs. My question is then: those that searched for a online bs to bsn program, what schools were you able to find that offered the program online?

I found online programs in both Texas and Indiana. Both of these programs already had hospitals established for clinicals though so you must live near these programs. Another option you might consider is to look for an accelerated on campus program. We actually have two colleges that I know of in WI with accelerated on campus programs - UW Eau Clair and Edgewood.

Hope that helps - best to you!

Does anyone know if they are still doing/scheduling phone interviews?

Im sure they are. but i would also call. It is to your advantage to get imput with where you are at.

Can anyone tell me what the phone interview is like?

the interview is basically like any other interview they will ask you a few questions that are normal interviewy...but they will also have you tell them about what you think the program is. It's very important you acknowledge.(and understand) that you know your committing to an intensive program and that you understand its possible you could be driving up to an hour away especially if you are in a tiny town. best of luck.

Thanks so much!!

heathbar--do you have cna experience? i had my online interview at the beginning of april and still have not been offered a phone interview. i sent an e-mail at the end of april, asking how long it generally took to be offered a phone interview if it was going to happen, and received the following response:

"we process applications one at a time, generally in the order they are received. however, once the online interview is completed, it can take weeks to a month or two for us to schedule a phone interview. the entire process takes the full time from the application deadline until june 30th. i am sorry i cannot tell you at this time whether you will be offered a phone interview, or not. generally, but not exclusively, the applicants who have cna experience are in the first round of phone interviews. this does not mean they are the only applicants to be granted phone interviews.

i assure you all eligible applicants are considered by the admissions committee before any applicant is offered a position in the cohort. "

i do not have cna experience, but thought i was otherwise a pretty qualified applicant... i'm still checking my e-mail twice a day, hoping to be offered an interview, but at this point, i'm wondering if that is going to happen. let me know how things go for you!

I've been doing home health care since March after I got my certification. My title is a Caregiver, not a CNA. I'm not sure if they consider that kind of CNA experience or not. I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer.

Does anyone know if we could possibly find out if we're accepted or not accepted before June 30th?

they said if you do get accepted that you will receive an email as well as a mail notification. and either way, it will be all little before june 30th. Good luck!

We found out about a month before the dead line but i think the last group some of them didn't find out until right at the deadline. best of luck to all of you that applied ! i wish you the best.
