Anyone aplying to UW Oshkosh Accel. BS to BSN?

Published

I just applied to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Online Accelerated BS to BSN program. The next cohort will start May 2009. I am excited and curious if any one else is out there applying or if any one else is in the program now. If so how is it?

Have you guys heard yet!????? best of luck!

I haven't heard anything yet. I guess maybe they really are waiting until the 30th. The wait is killing me, though. Hopefully it's good news!!

I haven't heard anything either... Looks like they're going down to the wire! Waiting is not fun. I wonder if we'll get email notification first?? I hope we all find out good news soon!

I didn't even get offered a phone interview, so I'm definitely out. It looks like I'll be going to the MSN program at the University of Iowa instead.

Best of luck to you all!

Has anyone heard yet? I was emailed today saying I was on the waitlist. I'm pretty disappointed. Is anyone else on the waitlist? I wonder how many are on the list and how many actually are accepted if people drop out? I wouldn't give up that spot if I had it! Good luck to those who are waiting.

Bummer, Im sorry, I didn't get in the first time I applied. my suggestion is to talk to Sue if you plan to apply again and see what you can do to increase your odds for the next time.

Has anyone actually gotten an email or letter saying they didn't get accepted?

Nope. I haven't heard anything from them since April...

A gal in my A&P 2 class this summer heard that she was accepted on Monday (6/28). Good luck to all of those still waiting. I will be in your shoes for the May 2011 cohort.

Yeah, I think they sent out letters to those right away who got in. I still haven't received a letter in the mail. I don't really understand the whole "waitlist" process. I talked to the advisor and she said it's getting harder and harder to get in.

tkzv - Do you know how your friend who got accepted stood out? By the May cohort, will you have your courses completed and have cna experience?

I don't have all the specifics on my friend, but here is what I have gathered:

Her first degree is in natural resources. She has worked about 16 hours a week (or every other week) in a skilled nursing facility for about four months. From just the time I have spent in class with her, I am assuming her grades are very good. I would guess she is in her mid-20s.

As for me...yes, I have to take 3 classes this fall to complete my classes by December (yes I will have no life). I just started a CNA position here in Madison working 16 hours a week every other weekend. I am really striving for the May cohort because there are normally less applicants (at least in the past).

We'll have to start a May cohort board in a few months.

Take care,

Kimberly

Everyone that didn't get in or was wait listed...keep your heads up! Most people don't get in on the 1st try. Don't give up and as people have mentioned, talk to Sue about increasing your chances for being accepted next time :)
