ANybody recieved interviews for CSULB spring 2011?

Published

Hi, I was told by an acquaintance that interview invitations for spring 2011 BSN will handed out by september 20th.

THis does seem kind of early, but I haven't heard back from CSULB at all and so I was wondering when the interviews are. The CSULB lady has been very busy and hasn't gotten back to me.

Does anybody know if interview invitations have already been handed out for fall 2010 admissions?

Thanks!!!!

What two transfer classes do u have in progress?

from what i've heard, spring 2011 is going to be just about as hard to get into as fall 2010, like the cutoff being .one point or so below. we'll find out in 2 weeks!

What do you mean by cut off being 0.1 pt below? like lower cut off than the fall 2010 admissions?

I heard the spring semester is usually easier to get in..

jomort08- No! i was so hoping we could be classmates! I really hope it works out for you.

hseajin900-from the pool stats that was posted, it says that the cutoff for getting into fall 2010 was an 8.9. My friend for spring 2011 missed the cutoff for interviews by being an 8.6, and when she called to ask what happened was told she missed it by .2. Hence, the cutoff is around an 8.8 (if the nursing advisor was correct), which makes it around .1 less than 2010. Also another one of my friends called in and they told her it was just about as competitve as fall 2010. i hope that makes sense :] And don't like quote me haha. This is just speculations from what i've found out.

ohh nono i was just trying to understand what you were trying to say.

so I dont misunderstand and tell others, you know?

haha, thanks for the clarification! :D

Just a US history class and a film class for the art requirement. Pretty lame!!

jomort08- i'm sorry you're in this situation. hmm, from what i've heard, you must be accepted into the university before being accepted into the nursing program, or any other program unless you're an athlete that got recruited. i think this goes for all universities.

lallen1231- some people who got interviewed (from this thread and others), have scores of less than 8.6. It's weird how your friends did not get interviews...

aznbc105- yeah i know it weird. i saw those same posts you're talking about, but unless the way i've been told to calculate scores is wrong, she had an 8.6. the only thing i can chalk it up to is that she is a csulb student, and like you were saying they favor transfers.

lallen1231- yeah that must be it then! hahah. Or maybe the other people have miscalculated their scores. For the Fall 2010 statistics for transfers admitted into CSULB as a pre-nursing major was 73 students (these are the people that got in or were on the alternate list). So yeah, I guess they do favor transfers... Does your friend have back up programs?

aznbc105 -luckily for her, she was just trying with an in progress because we were all told no transfers were getting in so it was a good time to, and she'll probably get in for sure for the fall so it's not a big deal.

lallen 1231, aznbc 105 - why would csulb favor transfer students over current csulb students...?

And I heard that transfer students who applied this spring are getting calls from nursing to find out if they got into the csulb

Hi hseajin900,

Are they calling to find if we got into CSULB...did you guys get in? I haven't received any sort of letter of acceptance or denial from the university yet...:l i mean the university not the nursing program.

aznbc105 knows more about why they favor transfers than i do, but from what i know transfers do better. like the class that went in for spring 2010, which was all csulb students, like 30 percent failed out (a nursing advisor told this to a classmate of mine). this reflects badly upon the school, so they like the transfers.
