Anybody NOT accepted to NAU/ASU/CEP through MCCD?

U.S.A. Arizona

Does anyone know of any applicants that were turned down for the CEP program through Maricopa? Everyone I know who has applied had gotten in with GPA's from 3.0-3.8. My GPA is a little behind a 3.5 and I am worried that competition is getting heavier, I see all these posts about 4.0's and 3.9's!. I have yet to hear of anyone rejected though. Just wondering if anyone has heard of any rejections or if the program is still too new...

A friend of mine was notified via email yesterday that she was not accepted into the UofP CEP program. I am not sure which locations she listed on her app, and her GPA/HESI, while not the highest, still seemed competitive based on stats posted here from people previously placed in the program.

I'm sorry to hear that! :( It seems as though this semester they tend to have more people applying and just not enough spots available. I applied at NAU so I am hoping that I will get notification today whether it's a yes or no. Thanks for the info!

No prob. Was posting just to let people know that *some* notifications had started going out. I wish everyone the best in getting placed - I still have a few more semesters of pre-reqs myself and anticipate that by then, the competition for CEP slots will REALLY be fierce.

Wow, what a bummer :(

Do you know what her GPA/Hesi was?

I won't post particulars, but while her stats were on the lower end of the spectrum, compared to stats posted here by other people who have been placed in previous semesters, her stats appeared competitive. I don't know which locations she listed on her app, so I don't know if that also contributed to the decision-making process. Sorry I can't be of more help, but hopefully the fact that you haven't received a notice yet is a good sign? Fingers crossed for you :-)

Well good luck to her, I hope her time stamp works in her favor. I know it must be hard to know you have to wait even longer. My stomach has been in knots, since I am pretty much right in the middle gpa wise. Good luck on the rest of your path as well!

I can't imagine what you are going through with the waiting. Not looking forward to that part of the process when it is my turn lol. But thank you for your kind words. Sending positive thoughts out to everyone who apped this time around :-)

Yes only NAU. MCC is to far away for the ASU program.

Did you know they have a cohort for Phoenix College too? They had two options this round MesaCC and Phoenix College.

When are you going to be applying?

When are you going to be applying?

I plan on applying for Fall 2014 CEP, but I am also considering applying for the GCU fast track program due to their high NCLEX pass rates and post-licensure employment rates (going off the info I found in this article, disclaimer: not affilated with either this publication or GCU)

While cost/quality of program is important to me, I also want to do whatever I can to increase my chances of quick employment once I get licensed. I do not currently work in healthcare, so I don't have the "in" that some people do.

I can completely understand that! I don't work in the healthcare field, nor do I work at all lol. The best advice I can give you for when you do apply (where ever) is to try to keep your GPA as high as possible. I went in with a 3.8 and I still worry that it might not have been high enough.

I appreciate the advice. My GPA is similar to yours, but I have yet to take the HESI (on my list of things to do this summer), and I am sure that by the time I get around to applying for the CEP program, there are bound to be many applicants with similar/better stats, so I am not going to take anything for granted!
