Anybody NOT accepted to NAU/ASU/CEP through MCCD?

Does anyone know of any applicants that were turned down for the CEP program through Maricopa? Everyone I know who has applied had gotten in with GPA's from 3.0-3.8. My GPA is a little behind a 3.5 and I am worried that competition is getting heavier, I see all these posts about 4.0's and 3.9's!. I have yet to hear of anyone rejected though. Just wondering if anyone has heard of any rejections or if the program is still too new...

You are awesome! THank you!

Me too! I have been anxious all week! Getting ready to take the hesi today to try to better my score. Any idea if they just choose the best score or if they only take the most recent? I did alright on my first attempt but want to get as high as possible in order to make up for my GPA! Thanks for answering all my questions.

Not a problem at all! I was going to retake the HESI as well but I found a little our about how they do the scoring. I got an 83% overall with an 80% in Reading and 92% in math. I was told that the give points based on your reading score and than on your math score. So you actually get 2 scores for your HESI as opposed to just 1 score. Based on that and my GPA being a 3.81, I decided against not taking it again. Anyways...to answer your question they will take the highest scores not just your first attempt.

Looking forward to applying and finding out if I got in!! I feel good about my scores all around. Not to sound too positive but I don't see that I won't get in! I'm sure you will too!! =)

Oh yeah you are for sure good to go! I am so nervous, I just spoke to ****** today who is my nursing adviser and she said that they are calculating MAT120 or higher in the NAU gpa... MY ONLY "C"! I was so bummed, I thought that they didn't calculate that class with NAU, but I guess I was wrong. So my GPA is even lower now to a 3.3! My hesi is a 95 cumulative so I hope that gives me a little more room. I am going to try to go to NAU or ASU to widen my chances. Oh lord, I do not know what I will do if I don't get in! I qualified for scholarships and they are pretty much waiting on my to give them the go ahead to send the money to the school for spring. How embarrassing if I don't make it!

Is that the only math class you have taken? Yes, they use College Algebra (Mat 120 or higher) and College Math (MAT 142 or higher). I had emailed the advisor at NAU to find out what math classes they would take for mine. I have transferred and gone to many different schools and DON'T have mat 120 or mat 142, but the advisor told me they will take any math that is higher. I have a lot of maths since I was going to be a math teacher, I can even choose which math they use. SO if you happen to have a math that is higher, they can use that. If not, I wouldn't worry! Your HESI is very high so that will offset your GPA. You still have a fighting chance.

If possible I am going to send you a pm with my email address....I don't always check this site. =)

I applied on the 28th for the NAU/CEP my adviser told me it would be a quick response. Anyone out there received a response yet? Just wondering what the normal response time is?

I applied on the 28th as well for NAU. I've heard int he past from this forum that it's about a week. I was hoping to hear something today! But then I got thinking they had an application date on the 29th as well....so they haven't started on applications until the 30th...so today would only be the 4th day they've had all apps.

I am hoping soon tho! What school are you hoping to get into? MCC for me! What was your GPA/HESI?

True, but some people said 7 days from the day they applied. We'll have to see. Going for PVCC first choice. 3.4/93%

I am hoping to head something tomorrow! I will post as soon as I hear anything =) Good luck!

Good Luck to you as well!

Thanks! Did you only apply at NAU? I know there were a bunch of people who had 3.4 GPAs! You're HESI is awesome! Mine wasn't that great. Only 80% in English 92% in Math, but my GPA was 3.8. Hoping to hear something soon! I hate the waiting game! :banghead:

Yes only NAU. MCC is to far away for the ASU program.
