hello everybody!!! I'm new in this community.I took my nclex-rn exam June 14 and I still do not have the result here in California. My test shut-off at 83's and now I'm losing hope of passing. Some of my friends took 75 and 265 questions and passed. I do not know what 83 questions means, pass or fail. I read from this forum, people who had the same number of questions passed. What does it mean if you think you got the last two questions right.

:lol_hitti I am sure this is somewhere around what you feel like, however, saying that you should know that everyone comes out of the NCLEX exams feeling like this. (just a rumor, I take my NCLEX in one day,:sofahider :chair: ). The matter where the NCLEX cuts you of is insignificant. The NCLEX will cut you off when it determines that by 95% accuracy you are either to standard or not. Personally I think that chances are good with such a low number that you are to standard. How did you do on school exams? I know that everyone I have heard that took the test felt like they failed miseriably, but have hope, I am sure you did fine:pumpiron: . If you are really worried about there are a few things you can do:biere: , I know in Oregon we can look on our state nursing board web site and look up our license #, if california has such thing that would be conformation, also I think you can get results by paing online to the NCSBN (NAtional council of state board of nursing) site @ http://www.ncsbn.org um or it is the pearson web site (sorry, not sure) but anyway here is that web site: http://pearsonvue.com/nclex . Also I would make sure that your board of nursing has your official transcripts. I know my school said they would send my boards my official transcripts :smiley_ab but I found out from fellow students that they indead had to send their own official transcripts. Anyway this might not be your story but I'd check. Well that's about it, good luck, I hope you did great;) um, p.s. getting the last to questions right, means you got the last two questions right,... anywho:groupwelcome: Community of nurses, we are of one heart, and one mind. Good Luck!
oh I am so sorry I just looked on the pearson web site for the "unofficail NCLEX results" and your state of California does not participate, sorry for misleading you.

Good luck to you.
83 questions means you either passed, or you either failed. Maddening isn't it? The number of questions is only the number of questions, don't get hung up on that. You're just going to have to wait.
Good luck.

The same thing happened to me when I took boards in Ga for LPN. I got shut off at 80. I expected to have 260 or so questions and to spend at least 3 hours at the center. I was so shocked when the 'puter shut off. But I was able to log in two days later and find out unofficially that i had passed. I hope it happens the same way when I take RN boards-that I passed! Anyway... Congratulations!!!

ok so I just took my NCLEX-PN and it also shut me off around 80's (at 84 or 85). That test was the worst feeling I have ever had, I feel like I failed, I know everyone feels like that but I swear I could not decide a definate black and white answer on any of them. What a horibble feeling!

congratulations!!!! i'm glad that you don't have to do that again! that test has got to be the most horrible....
people pass and fail with all numbers, anywhere from 75-265. no number is special on passing or failing. any number, you can pass or fail. but i'm glad to find out that you did pass!!! congratulations and best wishes in your new career!!!!

The board in California actually told you your results? I called them and they wouldn't give the results to me! I heard a rumor that there is a secret "code" to ask, is this true?
