Anybody go to Keiser?

Just wondering if anybody went to or is going to Keiser University's nursing program?

If anyone needs help with your classes I can assist you with finding resources online for most of the classes at keiser. I am the IT go to person when I was at keiser.

Do your best and study smart, I graduated keiser in 2010 and it was doable. I'm bilingual and it was challenging, but that extra language will come in handy when it comes to finding a job.

Let me be the frist to ask was it difficult for you to land a job? Are you pursuing your BSN? If so, were your Keiser credits recognizable? Congrats on graduating...

Yes it was difficult to land a job b/c of the number of graduates per cycle (3 cycles a year) with UCF, BCC, and Keiser each cycle. It took me about 3-4 months to find a job. But total of 6 months to find a permanent job. I am applying for my BSN program as we speak and will be checking in with the adviser of the schools via email and telephone to see what is transferable and what are not. I have to remind you that I did have 3 years of classes from another university before I attend Keiser, so those classes will replace what is needed for the pre-reqs for BSN. I only need 10 classes which is about 30 credits to receive my BSN.

Looking for job was the job in itself. I learn how to utilize my networks, using my resources in Brevard County (i.e. Brevard Work Force), volunteerism etc.. And it was referral from a nurse I met working as a flu shot clinic that help me land a job.

@cyram81rn: i recently attended an open house at the melbourne campus; i was told once i obtain my asn degree that transferring my nursing courses will automatically be accepted at other bsn schools, but if i transferred my nursing coursing during the program to another school then that will be an issue since each nursing program has their own guideline. are you taking about your general ed. courses as being transferable along with the other credits from pervious schools? did you attend the melbourne campus? if so, how was the experience such has course load, teacher, resources and etc.,?

That's true, nursing courses are somewhat transferable among certain nursing schools. But I cannot afford to continue my education at Keiser b/c I am now in state tuition and I rather go to a school that is a bit cheaper since I am paying for it. Yes, I finished almost all, but one of my general education classes and they are transferable to other schools since I have spoke with one of the advisers when I attended the nursing convention in Orlando back in April 2010. Yes I did attend the Melbourne campus. The course load was not bad, CONSIDERING I am married, not a mom yet, tech savvy, VERY flexible with schedules, professors were AWESOME with each of their teaching styles, resources were scarce especially the ones in the library b/c there are 24 students going for the same book, so I look for resources online and it's a mine online. =)

Thanks. Now I have some things to think through...

Is anyone going to Keiser Lakeland? I am starting there in April and wondered if anyone else is??

I completed my Pre req's at Polk State College. :)

And the teas may be free at Keiser for the first time but at Polk its $55 each time.... so Ive taken it once at Polk, and didnt pass the science so I had to pay $25 at Keiser to retake just the science portion.

I am actually graduating in may with my AA in Psychology, so yes.. going into this I already had all of my pre reqs done. All I needed was Intro to computers, but I was already taking it when I went in for my interview that they went ahead and put it down as completed. I had a high GPA going into this, that even a C in computers would still keep my over the admissions level.... so as long as u have a good solid gpa then a class or two shouldnt affect ur admissions as long as you get them done before you start the program.

I took all of my pre reqs at Polk State College, and I also graduated from Polk with my AA :) My three letters of rec. was from my boss, and two family friends :)

nursingstudent_12kp-Awesome excited for you girl when do you start? Are you at the Keiser Lakeland campus??
