I took the NCLEX yesterday. In a funky state of mind right now. I'm thinking about the priority questions -- I know I had a good number.. they weren't ALL priority. I got so nervous when I went from any priority question to a non-priority one. And I can think of a couple priorities that I know I got wrong. I'm reading some other posts of people who finished with 75 who had 20-25 priority questions at the end... which wasn't me (I love this message board, but sometimes knowing *too* much can be bad, too!). It kept going back and forth, with some select alls and random pharm questions (two questions on the same drug), to boot. Anybody with a similiar experience?
Feeling really insecure right now...

Please try to relax....I KNOW how hard that is, but you're second-guessing yourself into a frenzy! We don't want to see you freak :)
About those priority questions: people are ALWAYS trying to look for patterns that ensures they are on the right track or are passing. Or patterns that indicate failure. There's not a whole lot sure at all, frankly.
Some people say "look for lots of priority in a row, that's a good sign". Others' experience is just like yours: a priority or two, then not, a priority, then not. Both students are able to pass with minimum questions. And NO ONE gets ALL priority questions. They are going to be getting ALOT of "not". There are 15 pilot questions which can be anything, including meds or calculations.
Some people say "infection control is a good sign". Others find that they GET lots of infection control: but failed to answer them correctly apparently. So good signs, bad signs....you could make yourself NUTS here!
Please don't focus on what you got wrong: you will have gotten about half wrong no matter what. I remember thinking "I got SO many wrong, there's no way I really passed" and then remembering that it's the difficulty level that's required, not the number correct. And even THEN you CAN make yourself nuts, thinking "I had too many easy ones!!"....I did that, too :)
What's easy to me may make your head swim. What's easy to you may make me sure I failed.
Hang in there!!!!! :)

Been there. My questions were all over the place. I'm pretty sure one even contained a non-existent condition. Something out or Dr. Seuss. Or maybe I imagined that.
I also had that thing where it seemed like there were several different questions asking me the same thing. Made me wonder if I kept answering it wrong and they kept giving it to me again. I had a priority question involving the same disease three different times, and the same drug question twice. I figured that might be a bad sign, but I passed at 75 questions.
Hang in there. I bet you rocked it.

I felt insecure too, and nothing anybody says will make you feel better. Don't analyze the questions, don't think "Did I get enough priority/higher level questions?" because you just don't know till you get the results. I passed, and so will you.. Good luck!

Hey, just wanted to let you know that my questions were all over the place too. I had 75 questions - alot of them were priority, but they were randomly spaced out and I had a couple questions on the same disease as well, which makes you think you answered it wrong the first time, so you are unsure how to answer it again.....I freaked out after my test too and even looked up a few questions when I got home which you really shouldn't do.....but I did pass and I got I told you so's from everybody cause I freaked for nothing, I am sure it will be the same for you, it's just difficult to wait, I know!

I think its important to remember that 15 of the first 75 questions are ungraded, 'test' questions for future NCLEX exams. That thought got me thru the 48 hours of agonized waiting. Every question I thought was bizarre etc I just attributed to a 'test' question.
:roll Hey guys,
Thank you all for the comforting words. I just wanted to let you know that I found out this morning that I passed. I was spending the weekend with my girlfriends for a graduation party and one of their fathers rented a hotel room at the Marriott for us. I was bold enough to go downstairs and check my grade in the hotel's business center and then continued on to celebrate in front of all the people eating breakfast. They got quite a show. Thanks again for the support. You were my saving grace.
CONGRATS!!! See?!? :)
