I did, and what a wholesale change it was!! Two years ago it was much different. Geez...after sooo many years of epi and atropine being shovelled at us...now it's all different. I liked the new format though...no more 200 possible scenarios...now there are only like 12.

Unlike previous years, you actually have to pay attention to the test questions. Every other test I've taken has been more BLS than ALS...no more. Now you've got to prioritize and know your stuff...so refreshing.

I like that it's now based much more on the evidence that they've gained from 30 plus years of pediatric ALS care. Score one for Evidence Based Practice!

Yes, make sure you have the NEW guidelines, they changed. Evidently they looked at however many thousands of instances and said "oh, this works" or "oh, this sounds like a great idea but doesn't really work" and made sweeping changes. You can probably get them at the American Heart website.

Best of luck!

Now the proud owner of a shiny new good-for-2-more-years PALS card!

If my instructor hadn't been nasty and thoroughly unable to teach, it would have been a lovely day. I like the new guidelines ... they make sense. =)

I'm doing it tomorrow, first time. Trying to get rid of the headache as we speak.
