I am getting really excited to apply. Because I had to take CHM 101 this semester I will have to wait till May 11th before I can even turn in my checklist.
5. Momentum 2 + 1 Nursing Program: Momentum 2 + 1 RN program: This program is for
students who have no prior college credit and are attending college for the first time. It is an
accelerated prescriptive program with students attending classes for six consecutive semesters
including the summer semester. Students will be placed in the prescribed courses outlined in
the program with pre-assigned teaching faculty on designated days and times throughout the
program. Nursing courses will include face-to-face and hybrid online venues. A minimum GPA of
2.75 is required to apply to this program, along with other admission requirements. Students
must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 upon graduation from NOVA to qualify for admission to
George Mason University (GMU). The student will graduate with two Associate Degrees; an
Associate of Science Degree in General Studies (A.S.) and an Associate Degree in Applied Science
for Nursing (A.A.S.). Once students take and pass the NCLEX exam, they will complete the senior
year (2 semesters) of the nursing program at GMU and, if successful, will earn a Bachelor’s
Degree in Science (B.S.N.) for Nursing
Ya, used to be TEAS, and they changed the rules with TEAS, then to HESI, now back to TEAS,lol We take at least 1 HESI exam each semester, and they are a pain, lol
I have a question about the HESI exams that you take during nursing school. It's more about the book you use to study for the test. Is it any of these books?:
Good news, or at least I think...I got my checklist back today and everything was signed off except for CHM 101, which I was expecting (considering I am taking it at the moment). The letter attached said to hold on to the checklist and submit it when I finish the highlighted requirement. That made me feel 100% better about all my concerns surrounding the amount of time between the end of semester and application deadline. BECAUSE: if the form is entirely filled out already and stamped "Received 5 Jan" it isn't likely that it won't get thrown aside.
If I worked in Student Services and I had a stack of checklists to complete I would surely start with the ones that were already checked off on all but one or two items...I just hope they have the same mentality!
But the timing of your checklist really doesn't matter anymore, since it is competitive. From what i was told, they rank everyone based on the requirements listed on the webpage. I don't think one has to worry about them loosing paperwork, they probably get around 250-300 applicants. Best of luck
Hey FutureNOVARN! I got your PM and then realized I don't have PM privileges to reply. I'm taking Bio-Ethics also. What section are you in? My nova username is rsc237. Shoot me an email at my nova account so I can get you my personal email addy or PM me yours so I can email you a reply. Btw, I'm in the Momentum Program and quite frankly I've considered (on several occasions) transfering to a different program either at NVCC, GMU or UMD.
I did an online Bio Ethics program at NVCC and the prof was horrible. Believe we had 3 papers to write and you had to prove your point. Well if your point didn't agree with hers, she tore ur paper to shreds, lol Still got a strong "B" on the course, but found her to be a bit unprofessional
The general consensus is to NOT take bio-ethics online. The teacher that does "teach" it online apparently refuses to give As. I think that is simply ridiculous. My friend did take it online, and followed the outline given for a paper, said she followed the outline to T and was given a bad grade on her paper and told she didn't follow the outline. Not a chance I was willing to take. My teacher is so funny and goofy, so I am very glad to be in his class, my section is 003N.

wow, I didn't know that. I guess that settles it. I have never bothered doing the momentum 2+1 information session. I feel stupid.
