Any UCSF Mepn Applicants?

Published

Hi everyone--

Has anyone else out there applied to the UCSF MEPN program? They're supposed to send out letters this month (December) for the interview process. Has anyone gotten a letter yet? Will those that aren't asked to the interview process get a rejection letter now?

Crossing my fingers...!

Hi everyone! I applied to the FNP program and haven't heard anything yet either. I'm hoping that means all of my materials are in.

I also had a tough time deciding which program to apply to. I'm very interested in women's health, but was stuck between the FNP and WHNP/CNM programs. I ultimately chose the FNP program so that I would be able to work more extensively with children and families as well. It was a hard decision, but I feel like I made the right choice in the end.

Good luck to you all!

I finally got my email confirmation this afternoon. It basically said that they had received all my materials, they got a lot of applications and that they didn't anticipate finishing the review process until mid-December.

I found this piece of information particularly helpful:

The MEPN review committee will be inviting approximately 150 applicants to come to UCSF Campus for an interview day on either Friday, January 18 or Friday, January 25.

I'm glad they sent something, because I was beginning to wonder! I hope others hear something soon too.

I still didn't get anything yet. I thought we are supposed to get a written letter.

I also just received my confirmation e-mail today. Phew! Now we wait. :-)

I wouldn't worry too much that you hadn't heard anything yet. On the website it says that they will send an email or a letter. I'm sure email is a lot easier, cheaper and quicker for them to send!

whooo... sigh... just got my email today :) The wait is on

*sigh* Got mine today too. Yes indeed, the wait is on.

This is going to be the longest 2 months ever...but I'm glad I have others (you all) who can relate!

I got mine this afternoon too. Now time to concentrate on class this semester and make sure I don't schedule anything for Jan 19 or 25, just in case.

Hey y'all,

I just came across this thread and am SO glad to have found it! I applied for the Acute Care PNP specialty and got confirmation a few weeks ago that my application was complete. Now comes the waiting game...

Out of curiosity, where else did folks look or apply? I sent in applications to the University of Portland Alternate Entry Master's program in Clinical Nurse Leadership and the Pacific Lutheran University (Tacoma, WA) Entry-Level MSN. I already have a seat in Duke's next Accelerated BSN class - I got in last year but had to defer for family reasons. My home is on the west coast and I'd prefer to stay on this side of the country.

'Looking forward to hearing from everyone when the interview letters start rolling in. Good luck to you all!

Okay...

So, if I never got a confirmation email, does that mean I'm out of the picture? At the time when everyone was getting their confirmations I got a message saying that two of my rec letters hadn't been received and they needed them in the next three days otherwise my application would be invalid. I called the two people and both claimed that they would fax/email a copy and send a hard copy right away. When I double checked with them they said they had. But I never heard another thing from UCSF... Anyone else left hanging?

I would think that the ball is in your court again to follow up with UCSF. If I was in your situation I would give the admissions office a call and ask if your file is complete.

Best of luck!
