hi there jennai,
I will be starting at st. kate's, mnpls campus this fall. I'll be in the evening two year. I too have to do my pre reqs first, so I won't actually be in the "nursing" program until winter 2011. I too am very nervous, my nervousness is more from the financial aspect of it. I don't have a clue as to how I'm going to pay for it, I'm just waiting for that bridge to come. Best of luck!!
What classes are you thinking of taking this fall? I wonder when are orientation will be? Im also scared about the money. What area of nursing do you think you want to work in? have you worked as an NA yet?

Hi - I'm considering applying to their evening program in the future for the post-bacc. Did both of you have super high GPA's to get in? I have a high GPA but I'm not sure if it's high enough. Thanks in advance for your response...
Jeannai,
I'd like to ease into it a bit, so I'm thinking about A/P (i'm taking intro right now), general psych., and to get my art elective outta the way. I'm guessing that orientation will probably be in August sometime. Classes don't start until Sept. (don't quote me on that though). I use to think that I'd like to go into L&D, but who know's now. I've never worked in any sort of medical environment. I'd like to get my CNA this summer so that I can start getting my toes wet. How long have you been going to shool and where?
Toots,
When I applied for the evening/we program, I had been out of school for over 16 years and was just returning back to start my generals. So as far as GPA, I really didn't have one. I was told that it was a first come first serve sort of admission policy. I'm sure that they still don't just let any hootinannie in, you have to prove that you are going to apply yourself and I believe that I did that with my entrance letter. You should call admissions to find out when they will be accepting applications for the program that you are interested in so that you can everything ready to go when it opens up.
lemay, someone1 else gave me those months also so there prob. right. i think ill try anp1, theo, and cil. it will be alot but thats how its going to be until we graduate right;). l&d and peds are my areas of interest. i worked @ childrens hosp. for 5 years so got used to the peds area. i ve been back in school since 2005. i am currently @ century college thru the summer.
i would say yes go after ur cna it will help a bunch and give you a great
idea of what you will be doing as a nurse. will you be working thru out school? what school are you attending now?

toots, i dont think its about the highest gpa. i think its exprnc in the field and a great deal is from how strong ur letter of intent is. they say its first come first serve over all tho, but i dnt thnk thts all tru. my gpa isnt that high. are you already a nurse? if so what field, how long?
