Any recommended agencies????

Published

Hello - just throwing a question open to you guys - am thinking of trying to get agency work in the US so that I can get a visa and my NCLEX sat, with a view to maybe finding my own empliyment after say a year or so of working with the agency.

So....... you guys got any agencies you have dealt with and had good or bad experiences? What agencies would you recommend _ I have heard some bad things about OGP!! Thanks

I'm with Adevia, my contract is with the facilty not Adevia. The facility have re-imbursed for Kaplan study programme (recommended by Adevia) £350, Nclex fees, expenses getting down to London to sit Nclex, Visa screen, my immigration fees, my flight and will provide 3 months accomodation for 3 of us for 3 months. I'm hoping this positive experience continues when we arrive.:nurse:

:nuke: Hi Madwife, Could you give me some advise on insuring ourselves until medical insurance cover kicks in after 3months.

Guess what I came over here without any medical insurance !!!!!! Can you believe it! My son had back packers insurance which cost 80 pounds, it was the only insurance that would cover 90 days-others just had travel. So to all you Brits did you get any medical insurance that would cover? I am sure there must be.

I am not saying dont come with an agency I am saying be prepared and cover your booty-and dont have great expectations.

Same can be said for going it alone......coming over here independently and getting hired direct doesn't mean you'll be problem-free. I believed I was totally prepared for this, but I have had my eyes opened......please be aware, it's a massive culture shock, work ethics here are nothing like the UK

Kay, we got a 6 month policy from our bank. We told them we would be living and working here but needed cover until my employee health benefits kicked in. It cost about 340 quid for the two of us, but it covers everything, so figured it was money well spent.

Hi I'm new to this forum, Iam an RN who has been in AZ since 2004 recently completing my contract, I took out a 3 week cover insurance with OGP until I began work then my medical insurance became effective, have they changed this in the time i've been here ?

I have to say I came with OGP and although there were some surprises along the way I feel they kept their end of the deal, they got me here, they did what they could when situations arose and intially thee was fairly regular contact, I told them I really didn't ned it after a while I contacted them if I needed it.

Was that from your bank in the UK?

No it was through the agency I came with.

so you may be able to get bridging insurance from ogp to cover the gap between landing in the usa and starting work

You know I cant believe the inconsistancies with each nurse with the same agency-there should be similar treatment for all. Especially with car loans, insurances and general stuff to get them here. Why do some have gaps-
