Any "C" student graduates???

Published

i have to ask. i have gotten c's in all my science courses :imbar , mind you i got a's in math and pre-nursing classes :D . i want to know that c students could make it through, and graduate, and pass the nclex! please tell me some of you are not straight a students.......... :chair: i am completely done with all my pre-reqs, and i am just w a i t i n g .......

any encouragement, hope for me??? thanks, heather

i would've been happy to do extra credit, but the teachers out here don't offer it much, unless it's just a few points (which i do, when it's offered).

Maybe i should amend my question a little. I know students get C's while in the program, but it seems, even they received B's in their pre-reqs. I've gotten C's in all my science courses. And i was never absent (unless my kids were really sick which didn't happen often). i studied my brains out, and felt i understood all, but when it came to choosing one answer over the other where one answer was "better" than the other, though both were basically correct, i had a real hard time. I was actually proud of one of my C's as i started out with an F! I usually do better in essay questions, but don't seem to cover everything they want. :stone

We are not allowed to retake a class unless we D or F it. Since i got C's i'm stuck with them! :uhoh21: so on i go, a waiting and waiting. Even most people who answered this column were mostly B students. Maybe i should think of alternate "care" careers.

I like that quote. :)

There has to be a way around this whole thing because...I spent the entire first degree B.S.B.A (20 years ago) PARTYING! I got good grades and I repeated some classes for good grades. I have straight A's in my nursing pre-reqs.

One of the schools I am considering says they calculate all classes from prior degrees for a total GPA. Can't change that F that I redid for an A so my philosophy is "if I get in, I get in, if I don't oh well, life will go on." You may see me as the greeter at Walmart...:chuckle

Heather, if it happens that a BSN or an ADN won't work out for you, you CAN go for an LPN and then bridge over. Two of the students in my class who failed in our first semester of nursing school went this route. It worked out very well for them, one already has her ADN and the other one is back in school now.

Perhaps the LPN route would be a good idea. It would give you a chance to go out and get some experience as a nurse then maybe you could go back to school for your RN. Don't give up on being a nurse because you have a C average. YOU CAN DO IT!!

Good luck to you no matter what you choose!

Me too. Both of us were C students and now, both of us are RN's!

i'm sure it depends on the program you are applying to, but i am a nursing student in a bsn program and i had c's in a couple of my science courses. i did well in my other classes and i was accepted. you'll do fine if being a nurse is what you wnat to do. hard work is the key to success! i have maintained an a average in nursing school, i think the prereq's are soemtiems harder than the actually nursing courses. i'm confident that i will graduate and pass the nclex (hopefully the first time around!) good luck!
