@coffeedreamgirl Hi. It would be nice to meet you also perhaps have some coffee right after. Don't worry there's really no difference if you take it here or in Cebu. I'm sure you'll do well nonetheless. Just cut down on caffeine. :) Good luck.

meki_urameshi You are the bomb! :cool: Now I am pulling my hair one step at a time because of many things I see I need to do because u and therooftop say so many things I need to start doing. I really am happy and thankfull with all the things you saying to me. :) I also watch news everyday like TV patrol, Umagang kay Ganda, Salamat Dok, ANC Headlines, Mornings @ ANC, Unang Hirit, The World Tonight, Saksi, and I also listen to programs on radio like Doctor Love, Boys Night Out and in the morning I listen to DJ Mo Twister also. I am not wandering my mind elsewhere that much thats why I come here and read forum so I learn many many stuffs from people like you. You say the writing is trickyest. In my conservative opinion I also agree with you in this, because I am attending review center that ask me in writing task why it is that some aspirring govenrment officials running for election in country is tricking many people to voting them and I have to answer this. You are very good in advicing me about this trickyness in writing. I am sure many people will benefit from your advices. But like therooftop I am a bit confusion :confused: with one thing you say me why I need review material and review center and techniqeues and skill to help me sit in exam????? I do not understand this. I need review material and learning techiniuqes to know how to properly sit? I thought I only need practicing my English for IELTS. Now I am worried because I also need skills to sit. I will go ask why review center do not say me such things. I am now ANGRY at review center, they waste my payment soo expensive also too. Ty Agaian! You are very much helpful like therooftop. :yeah:

therooftop. I wait your good helpful help to me. TY :bow:

TY too everyone!

Hi lithotomy!

For IELTS, what I did was:

1. I alloted 1 week for each component of the IELTS exam (1 week for reading, 1 for writing, 1 for speaking and 1 for listening)

I used different materials, but the most similar the the IELTS exam is the official IELTS review materials.

I also watched the Australia Network's "Study English" DVDs. You don't even have to buy them, If you register in British Council, they have the DVDs which you can watch for free while you are there. They also have the official review materials I was talking about (and a plethora of other materials: books, practice tests, DVDs).

They are open from 9AM to 4PM. Their staff are also very friendly, they will assist you with whatever questions you may have. PLUS it's so hot these days, you might as well take advantage of their A/C.

Personally, I don't recommend review centers. I think they are a waste of money. I prepared for the IELTS myself and I got great results. But then again, I was confident with my English skills, because we speak English at home and I was a writer back in high school.

If you are not so confident with your English skills, I recommend getting a private teacher (even a friend who is good in English) instead. Someone who will be able to check your written work and give you corrections. I don't think they give that much focus to students in review centers because students are admitted in bulk.

To therooftop:

Oh Wowowie! You are impressing me a lot Mr.rooftop. :yeah:You are writer in your high school? No wonder you have easy time passing the Ielts examination. Mr. Rooftop can you please teach me? Can you be my private teacher? I am willing to pay you for tutoring me. I agree that no review center because like what meki_urameshi say me, my review center did not told me about how to sit in exam. I might fail my ielts just because they failed to tell me important detail like this. I think if I want be like you spontaneous speaker and very confident I should allot 1 year for each component of the IELTS exam (1 year for reading, 1 year for writing, 1 year for speaking and 1 year for listening). Can you go Australia later and teach me first 4 years? PLEASE!!!!! I PROMISE YOU I will pay good amount :twocents: for all your service in teaching me. :grad: If I can be like you I do not care paying money and bring you in boat with me and narscathy together.

TY TY TY TY TY Mr. Rooftop!

meki_urameshi I have plethora of questions about sitting in exam. I need attenuate myself to the chairs during exam. :chair: Please Heeeeeeelp!!! Ty.

Lithotomy, "to sit for the exam" is just the same as "to take the exam." It's another way of saying it.

Haoyin,

I'm actually not a coffee lover. In fact, drinking coffee is intolerable for me since I'm very tachycardic. But I'm glad to know that you've thought about inviting me to have some coffee after the exam. :p

I hope and pray we'd get good results. Good luck to all of us.

@coffeedreamgirl

Hmm... decaffeinated coffee? Anyway, I wonder what will trigger a faster heart rate coffee or me? :p I will pray that you get good results... :)

Haoyin,

I really don't drink coffee, whether it's decaffeinated or not. Hahaha, it all depends, we'll see if I get to see you in person. :D :lol2: Thanks! I read as much as 50 pages (of the 4 reference books) a day to be prepared before our exam date. I will pray for you too. :)

@coffeedreamgirl

There's always something else if not coffee... Juice perhaps? Tea? Or simply me? Hehe. Kidding. Just wanted a lighter mood to keep anxiety away. Good luck.

Haoyin,

I asked CAS to change my venue for the exam, to be in Manila instead of Cebu. I'm still waiting for their reply. Where exactly in Manila is the exam? I'm excited to have that "something-else-if-not-coffee" with you already. :cheers: See you soon! :yeah:

@coffeedreamgirl You've got pm.

Well well well, what do we have here? A little romance?? :vlin:

And what's this? The girl will travel 375 miles to share a cup of coffee (or tea) with a guy? :w00t:

This is even more interesting than some romantic films.

Is there a subscription channel for this blossoming love story?:anpom:
