I was getting familiar in this forum (I posted a couple of responses in the PBISON thread several minutes ago.)
But I was wondering are there any aspiring nursing applicants out there in NYC who would be applying next year to any programs? Anyone attending NYC City Tech, BMCC, Laguardia, Queensborough, Kingsborough (it doesn't even matter as long as you're in NYC, (smile) Would like to have an application buddy or buddies. I figured maybe I can get to know some folks now and as we we get closer to the deadlines, we will dive into the process together.

I have applied to NYC tech. in Brooklyn. I am scheduled to take the TABE exam this Thursday. Its been a loooooong time since i've been in school. The test is just basic Reading, Writing & Math. I'm nervous about the math part. Please guys, wish me well!!!

OMG!!!! I AM HAPPY TO SAY I RECEIVED MY RESULTS FROM THE TABE TODAY (I PASSED :heartbeat). NOW I MOVE ON TO THE BRIDGE PROGRAM @ NYC TECH. YIPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yes, the program I want to get in is 3 days a week. Not too bad. It is about a hour on the LIRR.

i may apply this school to so I would like to ask u few question;
1- How come u couldnt get in to program recently even u got an interview and etc?
2- As you aware, Beth Israel Nursing School Fall 2009 term started to apply them and this school actually start on first week of september if I am not wrong. What do u plan in this time period? Is there any other school in NYC that start early?
3- U have back up plans like applying other school as well?
4- i didn`t take A&P II ,micro,Nutrition and Diet Therapy and Pharmacology classes yet but, i may take some of those before september 09 but not all. Is this ok to apply this school without all reqs classes?
5- are u trying to get their evening section?

1. I was originally admitted for the Fall 2007 semester but I withdrew because I felt that it may not be for me (and I was starting to doubt my abilities because I was listening to certain family members who felt that I could not be a nurse) but now I realize that I am very excited to become a nurse and I will not let others undermine my determination.
2. I was not aware of this date. They do not start to make decisions until early May for the Fall semester.
3. I may apply to Nassau Community College on LI.
4. When I was accepted I did not have micro, nutrition or pharmacology. If you do not have A&P II I think that you can only go with the traditional program which is M-F during the day. I was accepted into the ATOP program which is Thursday (late afternoon) and Friday and Saturday during the day.
5. No, I will not be applying to the evening program. In order to get accepted into the Evening program you need to have finished all of your pre-requisites.
I applied to CNR, Molloy, and Stonybrook for 2009... I am a bit nervous to say the least. Anyone else experiencing the constant need to check the mail box as soon as you get home? I am just waiting for one yes, then I can relax.
