Hello NNS:

I believe that is what makes the nursing profession so unique in that we meet up with so many different personalities, cultures and languages.

I never had anyone approach me and disclose how difficult it was for him/her while on their clinical rotation....Just the fact that they were accepted into that particular nursing program meant they had an adequate understanding and use of English (idioms/slang etc)

GOOD LUCK with your Nursing Program.

Thank you for replying !

juz wanna clear one thing , nursing program = bachelor of nursing in 3 years? (this is what i am going into) coz i know there is accelerated program for 2 years i think.

i got accepted from QUT surprisingly but sadly due to i used to live in no-english spoken environment be4 so that it is like very hard for me . I came here for about almost 2 years and i has been studying commerce which i am not really interested in.

What i wanna do is , juz give it a try with my best efforts .

is it possible to build up my English level as i go along?

PS* i cant slang. :(

I really appreciate ur comment , athena

There are many non-native speakers in my 4 year BScN program, but most of them are fairly fluent in English. They did struggle sometimes with grammar in papers, but otherwise there was no issue. I think it might be challenging to take any university program unless you're prepared to write 4-5 page papers in your second language.

Hi! I speak spanish, and even though I passed the CPT with good scores I belive I'm going to struggle a lot in during the course...

You'll see, I don't like to make mistakes, so I don't talk much...and when I do, I say things I don't want to say..lol....I get really nervous and end up saying nonsense...Hope I can improve that before I finish the pre-requisits. :)

Thx guys for replying ! It sounds really hard for me especially while most of the time even people who are native-speaker, will frustrate about the academic material or sort of stuff. It really bring me down.

I have no related background as well. ayyyyyyyyy,,i dunno what should i say anymore :(....
