Hello, I have my BSN, passed the NCLEX, just received my license information and I have applied to many hospitals since I graduated. Unfortunately, it seems as though not many are hiring new grads.
I was just curious if anyone new of any hospitals in NJ that are hiring new grads? or if anyone had any contacts that could direct me to? or knew of any upcoming career fairs?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I have been doing the same thing and i have gotten nothing at all. and from the very few that are available to new grads all of us are applying to them.. its like they think we are all born with experience.
So ironic... I actually received a call from the nurse recruiter from Ocean Medical Center right after I posted this offering me a nights position on the critical cardiac unit... Of course, I accepted since I had no other offers...
It's true though, almost EVERY other position I searched for required (1-2 yrs experience) I don't know where they expect us to magically get that from?!
Don't get discouraged though, I'm sure you'll eventually land something!
Good luck to you :)

Congratulations on your new position at Ocean Medical Center!
Just wondering if you had any connections to get his position
or did you just apply on line? Just wondering.... I keep
applying on line, but not much response yet. I think sometimes
it helps to know someone.
Thank you... I knew someone who was friends with a nurse manager... I feel like most places it's easier to get an interview if you have a reference... Good luck!!

Where do you get the experience from? Shoulda thought about that when you were in nursing school.
And no, no one's hiring.
I have a job Tyler thank you very much. There is no reason to be rude!

Ashley, dont be surprised by tyler77, this is his mission in life...to be an A hole. All and i mean ALL of his post are always rude and negative. He/she's just bitter!!!! Pay him/her absolutely no mind. Goodluck guys on fiding a job, unfortunately Im in Miami, Fl and was in the same unemployed new grad boat until a few weeks ago when i finally got offered a position on a med/tele unit. Any how, Im wishing you all the best and dont be discouraged. Persistence (and sometimes annoying HR) is key.
Tyler you are so ignorant. So if i understood you correctly, she should have had nursing exerience prior to going to nursing school and she should have thought about that before hand? Are you serious? Newsflash, nursing experience comes from being a nurse, which requires knowledge that come from nursing school! And correction, hospitals are hiring, it just takes a lot of persistence to find placement. So if you are not going to be helpful or give useful advice, why dont you just **** off.
Updated news flash.....Does anyone do anything on the Internet besides Facebook of Farmville? Did anyone bother to think "Hmmm, I'll be graduating in a couple of years, I think I'll look in the want ads NOW to see what people want." So if that means you work as a CNA, then good for you. It's the "Whoa is me" attitude that so many new graduates have when looking for a job. And another news flash: Hospitals aren't hiring! (Must be the 10th time I've posted that, but so many of us in la-la land refuse to believe it).
Wow Tyler, what a kind-hearted nurse you are.
