Agency nursing in Houston TX?
I'm sorry but I don't know because I don't work for the agency, I'm work as regular full-time staff, but I'm sure you can just call Memorial Hermann's human resources and they'll be able to tell you. In general, I think most agencies require 1 yr exp on the floor you're requesting only because the orientation is very minimal so they expect you to know the basics.

Agency nursing in Houston TX?
Memorial Hermann has their own agency. They're called Premier and you apply through their website and can work at any of the Memorial Hermann locations. Good luck

First job in aesthetics?
Dear Telelizard, do you still manage the medspa in San Diego? I'm thinking of re-locating to there from Houston... Currently, I'm an ICU nurse, however I'm extremely interested in aesthetics and would love to get my foot in the door even if it's just PRN. Any references or feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Ashley

Any Southern CA agencies?
Aw that's awesome! Where did you travel from? Which hospital do you work at? Did you get to choose or do they assign you? And do they pay well enough to live nearby?

Any Southern CA agencies?
Hello nursing friends! My husband and I were looking to re-locate from Houston, TX to Southern California area next summer. I have my BSN, 1yr CCU/stepdown and I'm currently working in the ICU where I've been for the past yr. I've heard hiring in this area is extremely competitive and I was just wondering if maybe it would be easier to get a job through a travel agency as opposed to a staff position in a hospital? Not sure if that is true or not, but does anyone knows if there are any agencies that will send nurses to Southern California, specifically San Diego area? I would love to hear if anyone has had any great experiences with an agency sending them to this area? Any details about how it all works would be greatly appreciated!! since unfortunately, I consider myself pretty unknowledgeable when it comes to travel nursing. Thank you! Ashley

San Diego Area Hospitals
Hello nursing friends! My husband and I were looking to re-locate from Houston, TX to San Diego area next summer. I have my BSN, 1yr CCU/stepdown and I'm currently working in the ICU where I've been for the past yr. Can anyone tell me what are some good facilities? So far, I've read that Sharp, Scripps and UCSD have good reputations. Also, I've read that San Diego salaries are some of the lowest in the state, but do some hospital pay better than others? I know hiring is extremely competitive throughout the entire state of CA. Is it still very difficult to find a job for everyone or are just the new graduates having a hard time? I really want to move to San Diego and I'd even consider travel nursing if it would take me there, I'm just hesitant because I don't know much about travel nursing. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ashley

Any new grad jobs?
So ironic... I actually received a call from the nurse recruiter from Ocean Medical Center right after I posted this offering me a nights position on the critical cardiac unit... Of course, I accepted since I had no other offers... It's true though, almost EVERY other position I searched for required (1-2 yrs experience) I don't know where they expect us to magically get that from?! Don't get discouraged though, I'm sure you'll eventually land something! Good luck to you :)

Any new grad jobs?
Hello, I have my BSN, passed the NCLEX, just received my license information and I have applied to many hospitals since I graduated. Unfortunately, it seems as though not many are hiring new grads. I was just curious if anyone new of any hospitals in NJ that are hiring new grads? or if anyone had any contacts that could direct me to? or knew of any upcoming career fairs? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
