NJ BON Has anyone physically taken the nclex app to the office?
Yes! I did it. I was so worried about them not receiving my information and I didn't want them to have a delay so I drove to Newark and dropped it off. This was about 5 years ago but I believe it was located on Hadley street in Newark. I am happy I did that too. If your from NJ then you know how those state offices are lol ( DMV). Let me know if you have anymore questions

CCM Certification April 2015 Question
Hey Guys and Gals!!, I recently payed to take the CCM Certification exam ( Paid today!!) and needless to say, I am kinda nervous about it. I dont have test anxiety but I do want to be sure I pass this test. I dont want to fail and I dont want to be out of $345.00. I know this question has been answered in the past but i was looking for something recent. Does anyone have any good test prep material and can anyone that took the test within the last year give any insight as to what was on the exam you took. I dont want anyone to give me test questions, but rather topics. I also understand the CCM website has a "blueprint" but i was looking for some first hand experience opinons. I have been told about a book by Catherine Mullaney is great but again i was looking for " first hand Opinions" lol. Thanks again in advance. This site has always been my first stop for assistance.

*Pay at Aetna- Details on job*
Yes!! They say it's non negotiable so I guess you should tell them that's what you want and if they want you bad enough they MAY pay. But you run that risk. Money is not everything so if it means your sanity then by all means take it. I have taken a lower paying job purely for professional development and ended up making 20k more in the long run. Best of luck

Humana Cares WAH CM
OKAY!! I actually applied for and accepted the same postion. I was schedueled to attend training in Florida and 3 days before I was schedueled to leave... I Didn't. I spoke with both current and former employees about the job. First things first! EVERY JOB WILL HAVE ISSUES!!! So if you are nervous about that.. you will be nervous forever. never opt out of a job becasuse you heard bad things. Nevertheless, I DID hear bad things that I personally could not handle from ANY job, not just Humana. The Humana Cares Manager is a Case Manager RN that works from home. Point blank period. You will have 250-375 cases per month and you are expected to call 80% of them. Not to bad right?? Now onto the inside information...... You will go to Florida for a week so they teach you things that are not "job Specific" you WILL be monitored at home by every move you make. Your Instant messanger will turn a different color if you are not using your computer ( mouse, keystrokes) and your manager (aka Humana Coach) will be monitoring that information as well. Every company has a buzz word, and Humana's is METRICS..METRICS...M E T R I C S..... everything is based on them. Remember that 80% I mentioned before, well you will have members who are not in the same time zone so that may mean getting on the phone and calling members at 6-7pm.. you may not want to but METRICS will make you.. And there is a small letter you have sign that says a memeber of humana's team will come out to your home to "Verify" your home office "at anytime".... Long story short......... I dont like being micromanaged. I pride myself on my ability to work independently and as CM that is one of our requirements. So, thats why i didnt accept the position. I feel like its more about the numbers and meeting goals than about patient care/prevention/transitions of care. Hope my story doesnt deter you but rather serve as a source of information. Also, I do need to point out that most Work at Home positions do have some degree of micromanagement... as they do need to "verify" your actually being productive... Just remember that WAH does not mean freedom to work when you want. they still expect you to put in the same.. if not more.. man power you would at the office.. its mearly a convience for you to work at home and cost saving from them for the decreased need of work space. Sorry for the long rant just wanted to cover all I knew Let me know if you ned more information PM me if you like .. oh and excuse any mis-spelling as well. lol. Nurse not english teacher lol.

The above comment has it all said. If you have the above commenters thoughts in your head prior to answering this question, you should nail the job. But!! dont reheorifice them, you dont want to sound like your reciting something. make your response into a conversation for those extra points!!!!

*Pay at Aetna- Details on job*
I recently applied for and was offered a RN Case Manager position with Aetna. I didnt take it!. The salary offering was really low. Much lower than I expected from a company that large. I later took a CM position at a hospital that actually paid about 10K more. But! i must stress that people have said insurance compaines pay different than hospital settings SO you may have to take my comment with a grain of salt lol.. let me know if you need more information

Agency Legal Contracts

Agency Legal Contracts
I am currently in the process of working for an agency and going full time. There were a few of us that are transitioning from agency to permanent. What happens is you usually have to extend your contract at least one time. After that, the hospital has the option of offering you a position. The key is, however, that you must wait until you are in your second contract in order to apply and they can not "officially" offer you to "apply" for permanent until you are in your extention. Just be sure to ask the hospital first. NOT THE AGENCY FIRST!! They want you to stay working for them so depending on your relationship with your recruiter, you may get misleading information. The hospital, if interested in you knows exactly how they can bring you on staff. Most have a clause written in their contract with the agency that allows them that option. Let me know if you have more questions. You can as so message me if you want. As I said I am going through this rite now so my info is fresh lol. Hope this helps!!

Good ATC travel Contract or NO!
Thanks, my question was not so much about the tax home. I was just providing that info as many people on here post that when they ask this type of question. I was more interested in the adequacy of my contract terms. And from what you have said its within range so that's awesome. Thanks for your assistance.
