Any Miami Dade College students going for the acceler. or Generic option fall 2009?

Published

I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.

Thanks for your interest!

Olofin1,

I admire ur determination. I already have registered for the fall at MDC. I wish i could do BCC but they dont offer Part time. And from prior post orientation for MDC part time folks is tomorrow so I was not invited to that so i pretty much know the answer :) I will have to wait till next yr ..............

Hey can anyone please tell me at what time the orientation is tomorrow?

Specializes in Icu.

olofin good idea apply to BCC they dont make it so hard to get in to the program, and they dont take that long to reply either. I applied and was accepted to the Fall 2009 nursing program and have yet to receive a letter from MDC..

Hey can anyone please tell me at what time the orientation is tomorrow?

empresst,

will you be starting the accelerated? if so hi fellow classmate and from what major are you coming into the school with?

Mortero,

I'm kinda late getting back to this thread. I've been busy, haven't even had time to check my emails! No, I will not be doing the accelerated program, but the genric instead. I have a background in Finance. You?

Empress,

Are you starting the generic program this fall or you already started? My background is in Accounting. I'm starting this fall.

I just got accepted to the generic part time. Orientation was great. Also I was told that they accepted 10 more students into that program so please don't loose hope

RMO1809,

What topics was discuss in your orientation. Please tell.

Morning,

Please tell what topics were in Orientation (part time)? Did you pick ur classes?

Well they first gave a general orientation about the Medical Campus Library, Registration, Financial Aide, Public Safety, etc... Then the director of the School of Nursing, a very nice lady, spoke about ethics, brief overview about the program rules and regulations, uniforms, supplies, etc. Afterwards, we got to register for our classes. Part-timers have to take 4 classes in total. Tuesdays 6-7, and Saturday (3 classes) from 8-4

RMO1809,

Thanks for the INFO and GOOD LUCK.......I am excited for u !!!!!!!!!
