I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.
Thanks for your interest!
RMO 1809,
When we go to ORIENTATION remind me to Smack you on the back of the head!!!!!!! Like on that V8 commercial LOl :flmngmd:
LORD plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz you almost made my stomach flip and turn at the same time. :barf01:
Dont do that to us .....................AGAIN ..................!!!!
U know we are all vunerable lol
Hi everyone!! I also applied, but for the Generic Program, with a 3.97 GPA, so I'm pretty confident I will get in!! :wink2: The wait is killing me but I'm very excited since this is my second year here in the US, I finished all my prerequisites at the Interamerican Campus. I have a question for MOMMY'S GIRL, I read you have a list of about 5 exceptional teachers, can you please share that with me? That would be very helpful.
Good luck everyone!! :)
Chiqui24, i'm right there with you. My GPA is 3.95. It's the wait that gets to me also.
1st, MOMMY'S GIRL could you be so kind and PM me also with your list of Professors? Thanx in advance.
Just fyi, some inside scoop on the letters we are soooo waiting for. Yes, they have started mailing them out this week including Generic. Though, if you call front desk they are told to say late June or early July automatically.
Some bad news is that due to budget cuts, several things may happen:
Pool of students has been cut by at least 50 which leaves a about 100 that will get coveted letters. So far the starting GPA is 3.5, so I hear.
Please, if someone with a lower GPA gets letter of orientation post it so I can stand corrected. So, I will even apologize in advance if I was sold fools gold, i'm just posting what appears to be accurate statements by those who know the process.
Note, that not everyone who gets coveted letter will accept or even pass drug test, or finish/pass current Summer classes. Which means more will get in, it will just be a longer wait for the good new plus lowered GPA acceptance.
Last, I was told that Scholarships for all paid tuition where you have to work for them 2 years in a row upon graduation--from Hospitals like Jackson or Baptist will not be offered for this Fall enrollment. However, they may be continued for the upcoming Spring enrollment which excludes us. This sux cause I was banking on this not only for the $$ but for the job security upon graduation.
Does anyone know of any similar scholarship/guarantee job upon graduation scenario?
All of this could be incorrect, however more than 2 people other than the front desk have confirmed.
:no:ohhhhhh noooo I check it everyday. I am scared now. Let's hope they are saving money and using the white envelopes this year for both acceptance/rejection letters LOL.........I have never had so much anxiety in my life. Not to mention I already had a break down last Friday where I was kept crying all day putting myself down ........I never do that and now this NURSING program has me questioning myself go figure !!! :sofahider
