Tonight is my last night of preceptorship (YAY!) and graduation is next week. I submitted all my applications and fees to the BON and to Pearson Vue, but our school does not submit our names until after we complete their NCLEX review they do which finishes 12/15/10.
How long has it been taking for people once their information is submitted to actually take the test? I am assuming especially with the holidays that it will be sometime in January before we get to test, but I am hoping it will not be any later than that. I am working as a CNA right now, and that doesn't make me enough money for one thing, and I'm tired of being "Just a tech".

It depends on your state.
The BON in my state (PA) takes 2 to 4 weeks to get your ATT to you after getting all of the needed documentation. In my case, it took a bit over 4 weeks since I did not realize you needed to pay PearsonVue in advance of actually getting your ATT and scheduling the test. You need some time to prep for the NCLEX anyway, so a delay, even one as long as 4 weeks, should not be a big issue. Remember, your goal is to sit for the NCLEX only one time!

I waited 3 weeks after the school sent my stuff to bon to get my ATT, and then depending on how many people have scheduled exams....you may not be able to get a test spot right away. Dont worry about it too much and focus on studying while you wait.

This is totally up to you. Once you are eligible, you set the appointment. Most people give themselves between three weeks and three months.

Once you get your ATT you can schedule your test. I got my ATT a week after graduation. Some schools (like mine) send in your transcripts for you, while other schools make you send them yourself. It was crazy how fast after the secretary sent in our transcripts that we all started getting the ATT email!
