Hi beleive you are from Ghana. I know that by your name. I am from Burkina Faso and I was A NURSE there. I am going thru the process with NEW YORK state to have my transcripts brought from my home country. If everything is ok I can probably take the Nclex and start working here. You hae to be strong because the process is long and slow. I am going some hard time right now. Good state to go thru if you have your green card is California. Contact me by private message we can get in touch.

NM now requires the CES, and that is done by CGFNS.
Imigration status is completely separate from licensure requirements.
Licenses are neve transferred, your educational credentials need to be evaluated either by the actual BON or which ever company that they approve of.
And each state has their own requirements, so you will need to meet the requirements for the state that you plan to work in. And if they require the evaluation by CGFNS, then there is no way around it even when it comes to endorsing.
Even if one goes thru CA, if they are not going to work here, then they will have to meet the requirements for their own state, and most do require the CES from CGFNS.
Best of luck to you.
Which state are you planning on working in? You need to see what their requirements are first, and will find that more than likely is the same for the endorsement as well as initial licensure.

Each BON has their own requirements. CA does its own evaluation but it is also time consuming. And if you decide to move to some other state, you will have to be licensed in that state. Sooner or later, you may have to deal with CGFNS. I think it is wise to get the CES done no matter where you apply. Once it is done, the application process in most of the states becomes very easy.
Good Luck.:typing

As suggested here, apply to the state you are planning to live in, there will be less aggravation later on.

Generally we say apply to state you are looking to live in although we do not recommend California for initial licensure. You will be affected by retrogression so would suggest good read on that but also the sticky called Primer to working in the USA
I already applaied for CA licence but I have some issues at my school in Poland. I am waiting for a silabus to be send to the BON in CA.
