any suggestions also of the most welcoming state for lpn in us?;)

thanks!:welcome:

Try do some more research here. There many threads about it already. I have also compiled the diff. threads regarding LPNS in one of the sticky above. Try looking for micdelrosario's posts on the threads and read what she went through and how she found about it the hard way and if I'm not mistaken she came from that very same school.

FYI: You will be able to take the NCLEX-PN exam and get your licensure but per immigration purposes there is currently no venue in the current US employment immigration system to be petitioned to get a green card as a foreign-educated LPN. Only way a foreign-educated LPN graduate to be able to work legally in the US is if she already has a green card via another route such as family-based petition by a green card holder or US Citizen as a dependent.

It's your choice on what to do and what to believe.

Yes, I do have a green card from a family based petition. Thank you so much for replying on my mail.

LPN is really the first step for me to get into the BSN program that they have here in OR because it really is flat hard to get into the schools that they have in here. Again, thanks...

What if you are a BSN graduate form outside the US, you have a tourist visa and you went to the US. You did not pass the NCLEX RN so you were just planning to take the NCLEX PN.Can you be petitioned as an LPN for the H1 category and apply for adjustment of status?Specifically in California?

First of all, adj. of status can't be done anymore since all employment-based categories are either retrogressed or unavailable and the last day of filing for AOS was Aug. 17, 2007.

If you're talking about the H1B visa, that too has a Bachelor's degree minimum.

You may have a green card already, but there are many problems with the PN programs there to begin with, let alone one that is distance learning. You will have great issues with getting that accepted as you will have problems being able to write the NCLEX exam with a distance program for the PN. That degree is not even accepted for licensure in the Philippines to begin with. And the ADN programs are not accepted from there either for licensure in the US. You have gone thru the immigration procedures, but that does not exempt you from the licensing requirements, and the US requires that your RN training be considered as first level RN in the country where you trained. They do not accept the ADN for licensure there, the only thing that is accepted is the BSN. Highly recommend that you rethink what you are wishing to do, it is only going to give you much grief.

And it is getting harder to get a job as an LPN/LVN in many areas even in the US. The PN from PI will not make it easier for you to get into a program in the US, just not going to happen.

And the other thing to consider, even though you have a green card for the US, you are still a citizen of the Philippines, and therefore subject to their laws. If they put one into place that you need to serve there for two years after your training, you are going to have to do that.

Just something else to think about.

HI I JUST FINISHED pRACTICAL NURSING AND WANT TO KNOW IF THERE ANY GRADUATE OF PRACTICAL NURSING HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES WHO MADE IT TO THE US. bEFORE I APPLY FOR NCLEX-PN,ANYBODY THERE WHO CAN ASSURE ME THE EMPLOYMENT OF LPN IN THE US?

THANKS!

HI! I also took Practical Nursing for 9 months, but like what everbody here is saying PN cant take us to US, thats why I persue nursing for 3 years, Well I have a classmate who actually made it in California, he took NCLEX-PN and his already working there. He had tourist visa and I dont know what exactly happened to him but he got a job. Though I know thats illegal but thats what happened to him.

I dont want to offend anybody here but for my personal experience I will not recommend taking Practical Nursing, I feel I wasted my time and money just to get a fast track ticket to the US. which I didnt get. But still its up to you guys.
