Hello! I've been accepted into PSON AAS Program beginning Fall 2017 and its odd not to find any of my fellow classmates on this site :unsure:It would be nice to get familiar with one another before the program begins & update one another on how we are coming along in preparation of the program. Maybe even share some information from other threads as far as increasing our success in the program! The competition is finally over and we are officially a family Well, hope everyone enjoys their day and I'm excited to hear from my soon to be fellow classmates! Congratulations

Thanks! I️ just looked through it and realized it it's a requirement for the AAS degree only it seems. I'm applying for the BS program so don't think I️ need to submit my HESI scores. Are you going to the Feb. 15th info session? I'll be there, I️ feel like I️ have a million questions :bored:

@tinyspoons I already went to the one back in October of last year. They will basically breakdown the program from AAS program to Accelerated program and Bsn program . They will take you on a tour and show you around. I already submitted my application I'm just waiting to take the hesi by the end of this month. I hope I get accepted to AAS program.

Hey @tinyspoons! I have been wondering the same thing - whether they require this HESI/Math requirement for the ABSN program. On the website under "ABSN Admissions" I see "Math for Medications" as a requirement... I wonder what course would fulfill this.

Does anyone know who I would be able to confirm this with or a contact email address?

@sancha74 which program did you apply to the accelerated or the BSN I don't think you have to take the HESI for the BSN or the accelerated program just the AAS program . You can contact Ms Gallio

I'm going to ask that when I get to the info session. I saw someone earlier on this thread mentioned Cayuga College's math for medications course, I'll ask if they recommend anywhere else, too. I️'m waiting to see if I️ get in before I️ sign up for anything, though, because that's the only school that requires that course. I'll double check with them about the HESI too but I️ think @louismimi is right, it's only for the AAS.

@tinyspoons did you go to the info session today how was it ? Did you get all your questions answered.

Im applying to the accelerated bachelors (ABSN). Does anyone know if the "Math for Medications" requirement is a specific course to take or can another 3 credit math course fulfill it? Im waiting to hear back from someone in admissions since I couldn't find Ms Gallo's contact information.

Hey @louismimi I️ did go and the school seems great, definitely still want to apply. They seem sincere about it being a family/community.

I️ didn't get all my questions answered, but I️ think Mrs. Gallo will be able to help. She's on vacation till March 1st so they said it probably doesn't make sense to contact her till then. @sancha74 I️ was also unsure about the math for medications course but they said to just apply, you can take it over the summer.

Hey @tinyspoons no wonder I been calling her to check my status now I know why she usually respond She very good when answering questions. Did they gave you her contact info if not I can give you her email she usually responds to emails. I don't remember how many students do they accept for the AAS program . Which program you applying for the accelerated or the BSN ? I think more students apply to accelerated program then AAS program, the less people that apply it would be less competitive

Hi @lousimimi yep, got her contact info. I think I will submit my application in the next few days and just wait for her to come back to ask her more specific questions. I am applying to the ABSN program and yes, seems very competitive, but I would like to at least try. If I don't get in this year, I'll try again if I don't get into another ABSN or AAS program. It seemed like there were about the same number of applicants for the AAS and ABSN programs (and they take about 40-50 for each program?), but they emphasized that you should apply if you're interested and not let the numbers scare you. Maybe they keep you in mind for the following years?? No idea.

Hi! So, the Math for Medication course can be transferred in and it has to be the same course or comparable (cover the same content .. specifically Math for medications) in addition, if you're transferring it in, you must still take a competency exam given usually on the day of orientation and score 100% in order for the credits to be accepted. But no, it can't be a regular math course.

Hi! I want to enroll AAS program at PSON . What should i do? I took my pre-reqs at QCC and i have an overall 3.53. What do you think about my GPA? I know its very compitive to get in the program, but still i hope i can make it. Can you give me any advice how can i prepare for HESI A2 exam?

Your GPA is acceptable. Do really well on the Hesi A2. I recommend the "Pocket Prep" App & write an honest essay, submit great recommendation letters and you will be fine. Good luck !
