I have been trying to find other COD nursing student hopefuls or current students anyone out there?
I would have to say what helped me most was the practice tests, and paying attention to how to find the best answer. They have a bunch of very helpful tips in the beginning. To me the test was all time/task management. I studied most on the science portion and scored 98 on it, where I did not complete the math and scored in the 84th. The vocabulary and reading section are a little tricky, so be sure to read and practice answering the questions the way THEY want you too. The reading portion is not your interpretation or logic, it was very black and black and white, but prompted opinion. They want you to answer based on exactly what you read. If the book is your bible, you should do very well!

If the book is your bible, you should do very well! I started my studying in the summer (July/August) and took the test in October. I included it as part of my homework which made it more of a non-negotiable for me. I HIGHLY recommend following the tips in the beginning of the book and sections. I found them extremely helpful, and I hope you do fantastic and get in! Hope you found this helpful. :)
I have 2 associate degrees: one in art, one in science. They only count 1, and it was worth .5 points, but every little bit counts right :) My main money maker was my really high PAX Score. I think you will do fine! Micro was my last pre-req. I took the PAX early to get it out of my way and not study my finals as well as the exam booklet.
I reserved my seat everyone! Also got my first books! Woo!! See ya tomorrow bright and early if you're taking the spring semester. I'll be the one with the giant Starbucks cup.
Good luck tomorrow!
But what am I missing? I thought permits won't be available until March 10 and the class doesn't start until the 14th (next Monday)? I'm signing up for the summer. Was the info. in the packet that we received incorrect?
Hopefully the evening section of the first 8 weeks. I don't remember what section number that is, but it's the one that works best for my schedule. I'm actually taking off of work on April 11th, so that I can get my permit first thing that morning. I don't want to take any chances :) Maybe I'll see you there?
Also, do we know if we are meeting up this Saturday? Just so I can plan accordingly. Would love to meet you all!

At the advising session, Deb (the admission coordinator) did emphasize not to get stuck on the idea that high GPA is extremely important and holds anyone from applying. She said last year they accepted someone with a 2.75 GPA... so there is hope people:) Some accepted students don't fulfill the requirements, or simply don't follow the instructions before Fall is here so they get disqualified.... I hope whoever is in the alternate list makes it:)
Good luck to you Rocky
