Any Central Carolina Tech Students??

Published

I am applying to start there next Spring '09. I am currently in Midlands, but I wouldn't be able to start until Spring '10. Just curious to see if any others were going to or are in Central Carolina Tech in Sumter.

Hi:

Did you try to get your date moved up by applying to the Merit List?

That would be with applying for Merit... the earliest I could start would be Jan 2010.

I just started my 1st semester of nursing at Central Carolina Tech. I'm in the ADN program and will graduate in May '10.

I wasn't able to reply to the message you sent to my inbox for some reason me so I'm going to reply here and try to answer all the questions you asked.....

Yes, I live in Sumter so I am close to the school. This is my 2nd week of classes and we've gone everyday from 8:30 until 12 or 1 or 2, just depends on the day. But in another week or so we will go down to only going Monday-Thursday, no Fridays! Clinicals will start in October. The schedule varies, I know clinicals start at your clinical location at like 6:45am, you could possibly do clinicals in Columbia though cause i know they have them in places other than Sumter like Florence, Manning & Camden, so maybe they would have them there as well? During the semester sometimes classes are out at noon and sometimes you're there till 4pm or so....it just depends on the day really and what all they have planned. But the very first day of class we got our schedule for the whole semester, so right now I know pretty much what my hours will be until the semester is over in December! I don't know where my clinicals are at yet, but should know soon. You don't get to pick, but you can tell them where you prefer to be. I applied in January and in April I received a denial letter, but then 1 month later i received an acceptance letter because more spots opened up. Hope some of this helps! Let me know if you have anymore questions and i will try to answer them! :D

I am a recent graduate of CCTC(ADN,Aug, '08), and I have to tell you that the nursing instructors, for the most part, are a very caring bunch. You will be tested and pushed to the limit, but it will be a wonderful, growing experience. They will give you the schedule for your class within the first week of class, which is very helpful. If there are changes, you will know very quickly. They expect promptness and class participation, and 200% from their students. This ADN degree is very precious to me; it is the hardest thing I've ever done. To walk across the stage and receive my RN pin was worth all the blood, sweat, and tears shed for the past four years. I would be glad to answer any ques. you may have. Best of luck in the program, and Godspeed!:)

Hi, Im actually hoping to start the adn program at cctc in the spring of 09 also. I just finished all my prereqs there this summer and applied last month. Im about to go crazy waiting to see if im going to be accepted! I hope to find out within the next two weeks or so. Im very worried. I guess if I don't make it this time, I'll re-apply in March. My overall gpa is 3.4, but I was very upset to find out that my program gpa(which is what they use) is only a 2.96:crying2: I did do pretty good on the teas though so Im hoping and praying for the best! Good luck to you!

thanks for responding :) I sent you a PM or email, can't remember which one lol

Has anyone every went for the lpn to rn transfer program at Central Carolina in Sumter. If so I would like some info.

I just completed Fundamentals and Pharmacology at Central Carolina and will start my second semester Jan. 12 in the ADN program. The instructors were tough, but fair. Good luck!

I will be happy to answer any questions you might have! Did you sign up for the "mentor" with the SNA? I didn't, so I don't know if that would help you or not. Once school starts, it is very busy and there is not much time for anything except studying! Ask away!

I did get your email and read the questions. I have been in Sumter taking a computer charting class for this semester. I promise to answer all of them when I have some time!
