Hello all! I been following this forum for awhile and I have always found a lot of good information on here... I thought I would start a forum to reach out to anyone who may be applying to AVC for fall of 2015. I know we may be finding out in May. How does everyone feel about this? I know that stats requirement may of helped people that already had the the class done a small advantage. IF I get in, I'm concerned about whether or not I should work or not. I'm full time at a mortgage company which I know I would definitely have to leave... Does anyone know how to get on with a medical based job without any CNA, or medical assist license? Or if chanes of getting a job in that field are even likely with no licensing.
Yeah that would be great, I got the same score lol I'm thinking about starting to study maybe about 6weeks before I take it again.. But that won't be til after letters come out for spring since it won't matter for this application period unless you take it before September 1st.. Letters come out around November 9th I think
Idk I somehow got moved back some spots. If you go on the ati website where you can login and see your score it lets you make a review type thing & so like I put in all sections with score under 80% & it lets you review just those sections or you can go through everything.. It's pretty cool.
I haven't heard anything new other than there's a "dosage calculation" test in week 10 of the program and you have to pass it with a 90 or above. I highly recommend dosage calculation, its LAC 099 I think. I'm currently taking it right now and its only 4 weeks long. & if you'd like to retake your TEAS & pay for it they will accept the higher score, because I'm retaking my TEAS sometime after November if I don't get in the Spring class.
Did you take that class, LAC 099, at AVC?
Hi Lauramitr. I started the LVN TO RN bridge program this summer. (2015) I'm currently in my second half of the 3rd semester. I applied for the bridge program in June of 2014, and I received a letter to take the TEAS test in the first week of January 2016. I took my TEAS in February if I'm remembering correctly and I was accepted into the program in March. I waited less than a year from applying to the program to actually getting in. It went very quick since I was busy working as an LVN. Just make sure you study for that TEAS test, I had a few friends who I work with who were one point from passing and didn't get to start the bridge with me. So study now! It's a lot of stuff that was covered in high school! I graduated high school in 2008. So imagine how much I forgot!!!
Hi Bri_vn thanks for the post with all the info on the dates. It really helped to have a little bit of an idea of what the dates look like when you apply. So I applied this July and got the letter to take my TEAS in September. It gave me about a month and I just took it on 10/22. I'm glad I passed but I got 69% so not sure if that will play a role for next summer's LVN-RN picking. Do you know how many LVN's got in? Approximately? And how are you liking school? Is it harder than LVN school?

I'm in the same position as you. Still need to take philosophy 110 but other than that .... I'm done. I took most of my classes at COC because that's where I was hoping to go. :/ unfortunately I didn't get in. I just hope I'm not waiting 5 lifetimes.
