Antelope valley fall 2015!

Published

Hello all! I been following this forum for awhile and I have always found a lot of good information on here... I thought I would start a forum to reach out to anyone who may be applying to AVC for fall of 2015. I know we may be finding out in May. How does everyone feel about this? I know that stats requirement may of helped people that already had the the class done a small advantage. IF I get in, I'm concerned about whether or not I should work or not. I'm full time at a mortgage company which I know I would definitely have to leave... Does anyone know how to get on with a medical based job without any CNA, or medical assist license? Or if chanes of getting a job in that field are even likely with no licensing.

Oh okay. I got all Bs in the science classes, C in English & A in statistics. Right now I'm just taking electives to pass the time.

That's awesome!!! You'll get in for sure. Now, if I don't get in, does that mean I'll never get in there? Or how does their acceptance work. I'm confused.

If you don't get picked for spring then you'll be put on a "waitlist" for fill in spots, depending on your number or for fall. You don't have to reapply or anything.

Oh I see. So if we are put on the wait list we eventually get a spot? Or will I just stay on there forever? I may just change my major if that's the case. I feel so hopeless.

Oh no well all eventually get in because they take 20 ppl with point system & 20 ppl with the waitlist & a lot ppl default or figure out that they don't want to do the program..

Oh! Well that makes me feel better! I've waited this long, what's another year and a half?

There was another post where someone said to email Karen for a follow up on the waitlist. Which Karen should I email? Karen S. or Karen C.?

I resubmitted my transcript after retaking stats this past semester. I just need some peace of mind lol

Karen S. Make sure you do it before September 1st cuz after that they start all the decisions & stuff.. And most ppl I've heard from waited a full year & then got their letters the 3rd semester, but with the point system you could wait shorter..

Good to know! Thank you :))

You're Welcome!! Let me know what number you guys are, if our numbers are close maybe we'll get into the program around the same time :)

They just got back and I'm 27 on the FCFS list but she did inform me as well that they're taking a smaller percentage from that list since they will be using the point system :(( but I'm trying to be hopeful!

Dang I need to email them again, I was #48 in May.. That sucks that they're gonna do that though.
