Hello all! I been following this forum for awhile and I have always found a lot of good information on here... I thought I would start a forum to reach out to anyone who may be applying to AVC for fall of 2015. I know we may be finding out in May. How does everyone feel about this? I know that stats requirement may of helped people that already had the the class done a small advantage. IF I get in, I'm concerned about whether or not I should work or not. I'm full time at a mortgage company which I know I would definitely have to leave... Does anyone know how to get on with a medical based job without any CNA, or medical assist license? Or if chanes of getting a job in that field are even likely with no licensing.
Hello everyone again. I'm here on the waiting list as i applied on December of 2014. I have taken my TEAS and all the classes i could have possibly take to finish my nursing grad requirements and pre bachelor's during the time being. I just got an email about priority registration and decided to see if i had anything left to do. I just spoke to a counselor today and she says i literally have nothing left to do but either transfer to a cal-state or wait it out. Does anyone have any news regarding the next nursing class of avc? when will they mail out letters? Anything would be helpful. Thanks!

Hello again Lauramitr. Your score is actually good enough. Things are weighed differently for the LVNs as far as I'm concerned which is why I got in so fast. I only got a 66%, but I'm doing awesome in the program. They only require a 62% because that basically means you will more than likely succeed in the program if you can get atleast a 62%. My class had 30 LVNs and of those 30 only 3 didn't make it through the transition course which is 5 weeks. I am loving school, and I feel so blessed to be in the program. It is however a whole other beast compared to LVN. I graduated VN school as a Valedictorian and came into this program and my mind was blown for lack of better words. It is A LOT of studying and sacrifice. I had to give my full time position up at work which was hard, but I'm still able to work about 2 days per week. I got a B in the transition course, and a B in pediatrics which felt never ending! (I would be happy with Cs if it came down to it though! It's all about passing this crazy hard program) I am now in my psych rotation and it seems a lot easier than peds was, but it's still a lot of work none the less. Just go in knowing you have to sacrifice basically having a life for about a year. But for anyone who truly loves nursing it won't seem so difficult because you will be loving what you are doing. I know the bridge changed. For me I just have to do 3rd and 4th semester, but they have since changed the entire program which didn't affect me, but now bridge program is 2nd-4th semester from what I have heard. So I'm not sure how 2nd semester is. But either way, it sounds like you will be in this summer and I have no doubt that if you love what you do, that you will get through it! :)
